In fighting games, which is better, Blocking the hit, or dodging it?

Blocking if you mean better by skill but dodging since a lot of the time energy is taken away from you if you just block attacks like fireballs in SF.

Depends on the game in KOF you can simply roll so it's better to dodge and defending just kills you slowly until you counter attack. OVerall though I say: try to dodge and if you know that you can't dodge then block so it depends on the situation.

Until they make a decent fighting game, dodging will prove to be the better course of action.
