Going to pick it up tomorrow anyone got the chance to play this yet? It looks just fabulous

I played the demo on 360. I nearly wet myself in either excitement or fear. Still not sure.

Better get it while you can people. After Toys-r-us fucked up royally and released before the street date, no one knows when the next shipment will be sent out.

my gamerbud colin is going freakin crazy for this game, though he was cursed with the three red lights of death recently and has no 360.

i myself will have to pay out shitloads forr the game and order it from amazon.

i was in a car crash on friday and have been written off work. i can't drive, can't move things, can't do fuck all because of my neck, back and head. can't even get in a car as a passenger.

so i'm sitting in my house reading books and playing games and suchlike. guess i'll be on here alot more writing game reviews and stuff for the next week or so.

I downloaded the demo for the PC. The graphics are amazing, the control system is fairly intuitive, and the way you can interact with your environment is a step up from most FPS games I've run across.

They've managed to set it up so you can utilize your environment for a greater kill ratio, often using the powers your character can accumulate during gameplay. Got three enemies standing in a partially flooded room? Zap a bolt of electricity into the water and you'll frag all three at once. Got a really tough opponent? Set him on fire; he may run for water if there's any around and jump in to extinguish himself (great AI). Then you can switch to electricity and finish him off once he's there.

Plus, the storyline is pretty unique. You survive a plane crash in the Atlantic and swim to a nearby lighthouse. There, you find a bathosphere that lowers you down into an underwater city founded by a guy who's scarily like Ayn Rand. His utopia has gone completely haywire, of course, and you'll have to jack up on genetic modifications and weapons in order to survive and get the hell out of there.

So all in all, solo play should be fun, with a strong storyline, lots of action, and a great environment to explore. Plus, multi-player PvP should be a kick in the ass.

I only played it for a little while, but I can tell you it's an awesome game. The only downfall is the lack of multi player! How can you not have multi player in this day of age for games?

I could have sworn it supported mult-player play...at least the big advertisement at the end of the demo made it look like it would.

Lame. The landscape in that game screams for multiplay. Oh well...solo play should still be a blast.

My son likes it too.....but I dunno. I'm still on the fence about it.

Maybe if I tried it I'd like it......

their reason is because the solo play is just too interesting. too compelling and too full of action and story.

as you probably know, there are deadlines so i'm glad they spent all their time working on getting the single player sorted to the awesome extent it is now.

alot of people have complained, but i don't mind too much. i think it'd just be too intensely hard with all the insane power you can get to play multiplayer. you'd just kill someone as soon as they spawned, and they the same back to you. i don't think it'd have much substance after a few times playing. kinda like the matrix online. play it for a while and you're like super neo. when you've got 10,000 super neos flying around, it just doesn't make it all that fun any more.

It is a really frightening game, I started to play it but, I am a very jumpy person lol. My boyfriend had to play because I couldnt get past the beginning. I know, I am quite the pussy when it comes to video games lol.

I can see your point. Still, a multi-player platform add-on, with settings where you can control the amount of resources on the field...there still might be hope for that in the future. In the meantime, I just need to get my hands on a copy next time I've got some free cash, so I have even less free time.

my friend nicely gave me the tin edition of halo 3 so i traded my normal version in for bioshock special edition, and paid the £9.99 difference.

i <3 it its hundreds of times better than i thought it would be.

it doesn't need multiplayer.

problem is, my friend bought pgr4.

i have to get it.
