| Billy Corgan - The Future Embrace -

At first, I was really skeptical and doubtful about liking the new material. He's certainly been through the rough, especially in this denoument of his life. The new album feels a lot like The Cure's newest album to me: Personal. I don't think this album makes any breaking waves in the music world at all. Even though this style of industrial/new wave music is a first (for a complete album) for Corgan, it's not gripping compared to other music out there, aside from the intense emotion that he is renowned for. As a loving fan, the album does a lot for me. It's right up there with Robert Smith's (The Cure's) last album (for me). Total mood music.
Speaking of Smith, he's featured on "To Love Somebody" as a backing vocal. i believe in practicing compassion. |
