I've heard some people on here say good things about Bauhaus, so I thought I would give them a try. So I spent $9 on a used CD, and I learned a valuable lesson

Hey Garth Brooks isn't bad! You have to remember, Duddy, that everyone has different tastes. Just cause one person likes something doesn't mean everyone is going to like it.

Or... Just because one person hates the used CD of Bauhaus they just purchased, don't mean the band sucks.

Oh, I know. BUt I'm just saying that my opinion is that they suck. And I also went and listened to some of their other stuf just to make sure I didn't get a bad CD. I didn't like any of it *shrug*

They've been getting a lot of mention lately and I had a hard time figuring out why until recently. Apparantly Static-X's lead singer was seen wearing a T-Shirt of theirs. Static-X's record label is trying to make them appear gothic (even they they clearly are not). It's a sick and twisted thing going on in the music industry right now. Try not to put too much creedance into other people's opinions. A lot of people are just likeing what they're being told to like. Kudos to you for knowing your own tastes, no sarcasm intended.

I might pay you for those CDs Duddy, if you tell me which ones they are. I'll pay shipping and handling, and we can negotiate the price of the CDs themselves. Just reply here or PM me.

BLAH. Warner Bros. is NOT trying to make Static-X gothic. They're trying to make Static-X dark and 'badass,' which is an entirely different thing, though I hate it just as much.
Just because Wayne's wearing a t-shirt of a gothic band doesn't mean they're trying to be known as a way-goth band. If he wore a Public Enemy shirt, would he be trying to be a rapper? It's all musical taste.

And yes, I do not like Bauhaus much at all, either. Listened to a lot of it, but it never grabbed me. I've noticed that goths are required to like them, however; it is not to be argued. If you're a goth and you hate Bauhaus, you're nothin but a two-bit poseur.

Not quite true, they grew on me. From what I've seen goths are required to like Sisters of Mercy, whom I don't like yet at all.

And I don't think Wayne Static is a fan of Bauhaus, I think this is the doing of his record label, merely because it would be so fitting that going after punk and metal that goth would be next.

Small detail I find funny is that he must play with a Gibson Gothic Flying V or a Gibson Gothic Explorer. Even though there's little special about them, it's the guitar he must play. He talks about it all the time... ...what the hell is that?

1) Yes, you don't THINK Wayne is a fan of Bauhaus. I think Wayne Static has a hormone problem, but how the hell would I know?

2) Maybe he likes the guitar, i.e. he finds something special about it. My drums aren't the only of their kind, but I feel all naked and clumsy when I'm playing someone else's.

i saw that stupid video where he's sporting that shirt. i have a big ass poster of it in my bedroom. it's one of my favorite posters. honestly though, im not very fond of bauhaus. but i love gothic music. i have like three bauhaus shirts and that big ass poster. i only have one bauhaus cd that i never listen too. my girlfriend bought it for me. it was like 35 bucks cuz it's a live recording of their last concert. bauhaus does suck, but their well known because they were a big part of the goth underground back in the day. just like the cure, or sisters of mercy, or christian death. you don't see too many of those shirts though because they fuckin suck. the bauhaus shirts however, just look fucking sick. i like my poster. i also like going down on girls.

Bauhaus is good though...... I like them alot... some people do not... hell... I hate Static-X.... they suck bad.... others like them... it is that way with music... you either like it or you hate it...

Have to disagree with you there. The pioneers of goth were Black Sabbath, circa 1969, more recently Souixie and The Banshees, Berlin, et. al. Bauhaus is the Milli Vanilli of the Goth music scene...right up there with Sisterns, er Sisters, of Mercy.

Hmmm. This is very odd. I like Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, AND Garth Brooks. I wish people would stop bashing my music. And actually, Bauhaus did invent goth music- literally. As in, the term was first applied to them. A lot of their work sucks, like most artists, but that doesn't mean I ignore the good stuff. What CD did you get of theirs, anyway?
