In the past two weeks over 18 people have died at my school. I'm not talking about grandparents or distant cousins, but moms, dads, students, sisters, and brothers. One of my friends recently lost her dad and lost her mother 1 year ago the same weekend (some of you may know about it, the hit and run in PA) two of my friends have lost siblings, and countless have recently lost mothers and fathers to illnesses or accidents. We lost a student last year (I really wasn't friends with her, but I was good friends with her little sister) and another this year. Last year I lost a VERY good friend and my grandfather (who I was close with) and now I'm afraid I'm going to lose my Mom. I don't want to share to many details but the doctors found something when they were running tests on her. I've always been afraid for her because she is such a heavy smoker so the fear has always been there, but now its worse. I need help coping with the losses and I need help with ways to deal with my fear about losing my Mom. I've talked to her and she's tried reassuring me that she will be fine but it is not helping.

Well i have something in commen with you there. Me i have almost lost my dad with smoking once. Then it almost happened a second time. But then he still continues to smoke. There is nothing that my mother and i could do for him. But besides let him sit there and smoke all he wants. He has been smoking ever since he was at the age of 16 and he is 64 know and still does it.
Know i'm starting to pick up the habbit of smoking. I don't know why though.
I'm sorry that this is happening to your mom and that can be a very hard thing to go through. Believe me i have been there and that was one of the most saddist times of my life. I don't know if there is anythin that i could do for you or know what to say that could make you feel better. But i hope that your mother will keep in good health. All you could do is be there for her and try not to think of anything bad that is going to happen ok. As you have offered me before i'll return it back. I'm here if you want someone to talk to.

dri, how's your mom been since i last came over your house? you know that i'll pray for her to get better. cheer up old friend, things will get better eventually, at least i hope they will...

You know that was kind of a harsh thing to say to her. Yes people die every fucking day. But its really hard when it comes across your loved ones. But since you don't have a loved one that is dying it doesn't really bother you that she maybe having someone that is almost dying in her family. If you don't have anything that is helpfull to say and you want to leave a harsh reply then you really don't have any buisness being in this thread. You also may think that your going to live forever. But your going to die just like everyone else.

yes people die and i do have to get use to it. but that doesnt mean that it wont hurt. ITS MY MOM! i'm not very close to my father and my family lives a state away so if i lose her, i lose everything in my house. there is a chance my mom is going to be ok, we are waiting for the results.

i hope you're right and that she will be okay.

That is how i am. I am more closer to my mom then i am with my dad. You see my dad isn't bad at all. I'm just kind of quiet around him and him i don't talk every day like i do with her. But i kind of hate it how i can't seem to open up as much with him like how i can with my mom. I can sooo understand how painfull it could be to lose someone that is very very close to you. I just can't think of how that would be if i were to lose my mom. I would maybe drink like a fish and smoke and cry alot. Since i'm alone and don't have any friends in person it is kind of hard to be able to help your self with that kind of a problem that you have. But all of this shit takes alot of time to heal. Don't listen to people like errant. Since your waiting for the results i'm going to hope for you and think for the best of your mom and hope that she will be in good hands.

glad to see your ok, or at least back amy! thank you for all the love... i leave for florida thursday at 5 am... i'm kinda freaked out about the idea of being on a plane. i've been on them before; my parents were in the army so i flew all the time, but this is the first time i'll be on one and them not there... gaa, i just want it to be the 19th of april and everything to be ok. and them trying to take my older brother to war isn't feeling so good right now either...
