i promised someone never to cut again. then i broke it. now i'm paying the worst price i could ever pay. he's leaving me. alone in misery. whats your idea's on promises?

Everything in this world can be taken from you except your word. Your word should be your bond.. If you give your word, you should be prepared to stand by it.. I myself do not promise if i believe i will not be able to keep that promise. I will offer a 'I'll try my best" or "as best i can" but not a promise..

when he asked u not to cut again, u should've said "i'll try but i can't promise" cuz when i used to cut it was almost like an addiction..it's not that easy to stop..
still, he should be there for u, especially when u're feeling as bad as u do now...
i just think it's hard for him to see you in so much pain..
just try to talk to him and tell him u've made a mistake, and u'll try to stop cutting but tell him it's not as simple as he thinks it is...

yea it did thanks. i havent cut in awhile but certain people in the last few days are making me want to cut again. i have no intention to cut again. after seeing him in so much pain. and sadness i cant bere to do that again. i love him with all my hert. it hurts even more to know though that i hurt im more then myself. i'm not all that insecure. just people make me that way.

As far as the promises bit goes, I NEVER make promises I can't keep. You must have known that you more than likely could not have kept that promise, therefore you should not have made it. And, I hate to say it, but for ever thought you might be having about "If he loved me he wouldn't have left" He's thinking "If she loved me she wouldn't have done that." He doesn't have to deal with that stuff, it's his life and it's normal that he wouldn't want it filled with depression. If you loved him, you wouldn't want that in his life either. Or in yours.

I only keep promises when I know I can keeps em. If a friend comes to me with a super-huge secret and tells me not to tell anyone, I can keep that secret. No big deal. But if I'm hanging out with a hot chick and she makes me promise not to touch her boobs, then..... well, I'm not gonna make that promise.

yeah that's true but it's in the past now and i can't change it. he promised me tat if i do it again he will leave. and i havent had the urge to cut so it's gone. i dont want to lose him and i dont want him to think i have no self control. though he may already think that.

well, i have depression and i sometimes use to find myself, after-the-fact anyway, breaking promises. i have broken some pretty hard promises to the same person, and i will always regret it. i have almost lost love so many times over this lying nature i used ot have. for the past 6 months or more i have been very loyal. i have not even been with that person and still kept my promises to her. i do not, and will not ever breaka promise again as long as i live.................

unless it would pertain to someone's life, death, health, or overall attitude toward the truth or lie i told or did.

I don't make promises really.I was a horrible promise keeper when I was cutting.

well i dont cut anymore and i dont really talk to anyone anymore. so theres no problem now.
