My parents in law were married for 35 years until death parted them, and no one has any recollection of a cross word.
My firey mediterranean grandparents have been married for 62 years and there's been plenty of scrapping.
But still, they're very affectionate, still evidently very much in love.

Like me and my boyfriend...I'm the one throwing objects at him raging, he's the one that can be insensitive and rude...ah well, without the downs you really can't see the great ups! It's all part of neing in a serious relationship.

I dont know if you still have this issue, but it appears that he is in a bit of a slump, and he is not giving you adequate reasoning for his not going anywhere. Only excuses. Perhaps there is another issue somewhere for why he doesnt want to go, perhaps being a father makes him feel that he cannot travel because its too much of a hassle.

I would suggest lighting a fire under his ass, by either going with a group of friends and leaving him alone to sulk, or really laying a smackdown on his ass and let him know that he is a lazy farking slug.

Have you ever considered planning a trip yourself and find a babysitter and tell him you have two tickets/passes/whatever for you and him to go to such and such place on such and such date? Sometimes people lack the motivation and or stamina to do this stuff, I know for myself that I would not travel too much if it werent for my girlfriend. it isnt that I dont want to go, its just that I am terrible with making plans and following through, so she makes the plans and I give her ideas here and there and then she sets the ball rolling and I pay for it

I dont know It would be interesting to hear your mans side of the story as well though.
