Psyko and i had to have our 10 month old kitten euthanized 3 days ago. neither of us are handling it particularly well.

this really sucks.

why did it need to be euthanized?

she was really ill. anemic, rapid weight loss, heart murmur. she had cardiomyopathy and she just wasnt going to make it.

cats and dogs and women may not mean a whole hell of alot to you since you seem to think and treat them as tho they are sub par, but my kitties are part of my family. alot of people consider their animals as part of their family. ive had my kitten since she was about a month old and she fit in the palm of my hand, ive watched her grow and blossom into a lovely and sweet kitty. its cruel that she had to be taken from me so soon, cruel that she lived only a short life. her 10 month old brother prowls the house looking and calling for her, and when he cant find her, he comes to me to seek comfort. it breaks my heart.

if you cant show a little sympathy, you need to stop posting here.

Yeah and its cruel my mother has spots on her lungs and my aunt is losing her sight, mind, bladder control and is having seizures upon strokes every day. We're all dying and falling apart. I gave you sound advice though. Speaking form experience, make sure to buy your dogs/cats from private breeders since they dont tend to come with congential defects the way they do if you buy them from a pet shop. Aside from that sorry about your loss it must be traumatic... excuse me if I am a bit numb what with the 2 closest women to me dying.

i did NOT buy her from a pet shop. i adoped her from the humane society and her heart murmur was undetectable as she was so young.

and FWI, buying animals from breeders doesnt guarantee you have a healthy one. its rather common to buy an animal from a breeder and discover that it has congenital defects/major health issues.

besides, it truly is better to adopt an animal in need than to buy an animal from someone who is mass producing them.

it just comes across extremely rude an insensitive to tell me to 'go buy another fucking cat'. she wasnt just any cat. it would almost (notice i say 'almost') be like your girlfriend dying and then having me tell you to just go get another fucking girlfriend. granted, the kitten and i were not romantically involved, but family is family.

The difference of course being one is just a fucking cat and the other is a human being.
