Last night my girlfriend and I were talking and she told me that she wanted to try and get her friend to have a threesome with us.
It's most likely the friend will agree and I don't have any _real_ problems with it except the possibility of one of the girls freaking out midway through.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of stuff?
Any advice, eg. should I do it or not?

My guy friend wants to have a threesome too.(When we decide to Sleep with each other, I am taking it slow do to past experinces.) I told him it would have to be some one I felt comfortable with.

Well I am not the one to be giving advice.....But do the pros and cons thing. If you have doubts DONT do it. Go with your gut instinct. When you have a bad feeling and you go against it, rarley do good things come from it. Thats speaking from experince. Also it depends on your relationship with your girlfriend. Do you think things would be different afterwards? Bad or good? Make sure you all three understand what you are getting into. Ask your girl what she would expect of you and what the limits are. Well hope I was of some help.

I think the stuff about limits is really important as I know that my girl would prefer to perhaps have me in a passive-observer role rather than being in the middle of events because (like you) she's worried about feelings which may develop.

Been there done it, with guys and girls and it was always fun. I would base alot of it on how serious you are with this girl, I mean, if you don't plan to spend the rest of your life with her, then what have you to lose right? .. go for it.
If you do plan to spend the rest of your life with this girl, discuss it, think about weather or not you really "need" to do this, or would like to experiment with things like this as usually it will lead to even more kinky fun stuff down the road. It would be kinda sad to pass up the experience either way though, you only live once, not to try something like this is a sin

oh .. and as for rarely good things coming of it, well I guess if you don't know what you are doing then that could be a problem, but I have never had anything bad ever come of it, only good.

Voice your fears to her about it. Make sure it's a 'conversation' and not a chat.. Any talk less than 2 hours is not a full discussion of the problem(not that it's a problem)..
If you and her then both agree that it is something you want to try, then all i can say is GO FOR IT!! As it has been said: You only live once.
But like They and I said.. Make sure you weigh the pros and cons first..

So far my girlfriend and I have discussed everything and we're sure that there won't be any issues about self-confidence or jealousy or anything.

About instincts, we both feel good about it as (can't remember if i mentioned this) my girlfriend and her friend have previously experimented with one another (although nothing beyond 1st / 2nd base stuff) and the friend has expressed a sexual interest in me in the past.

Currently the plan is to go out and have a couple of drinks, see a band or something, then come back to my place and try and let the situation occur organically rather than saying

"so, would you like to take your clothes off now?"

sort of stuff.
