All of these events have nothing to do with you, so stop even attempting to imply that they just might. Life throws hardships at us. My mom has cancer, I don't blame that on being 'cursed'. Smell the coffee and just be there for them.

I'm sorry to hear about your girlfriend and your mother, but you must realise that it's not a curse, and you did nothing wrong. Sometimes these things happen, and they happen all at once so it's hard to find a reason behind them. The truth is, there is no reason, it's life. I doubt anything anyone can say will make you feel better, you just have to be strong, be there for your mother and make the redt of her time here as happy as you can, build some memories.

It's easy to feel insecure when someone close to you is having such a rough time.I think that deep down perhaps you know that you're not the cause of their problems,but you're a nice person and so your worry about them and your connection to them manifests as guilt.

Just try and concentrate on what you can do to support them,and it may get easier to cope with the situation.
