Is it possiable that your body can get used to meds and they stop working. I was on meds and they where working I guess. I mean I wasen't happy but I was not sad either. But within the last few weeks I have started cutting again. I always feel depressed I don't eat as much or at all some days. I just had that glimer of hope that so quickly faded out. So here we go again into the black abyess known as life.

What makes you cut yourself?

I need for release. I don't know It just seems to feel like it lets things out.

your body can get "addicted" to aintidepps. after a wile it will stop producing whatever the hell it does to make you happy becasue it knows (because something had to be wrong with it in the first place to put you on them) that the natural way is not working properly and the body knows it will get the extra help from the meds.
tell you doc now. stop cutting yourself, it doesnt release or help the pain, take it from someone who knows. it only hurts you and those who love you. good luck

The body can grow resistant to any srug that you use over time, and often with anti-depressents the lack of depression is often caused by more Psychological means than Medicinal. You think that the drug will work therefore (for a while it does) but then again I'm sure that anyone can have doubts about any medication, and yes even on meds you can sometimes "relapse" into old habits be it Cutting or whatnot.

Personally I don't see what the big deal is with cutting. I do it occasionally, though lately a lot more than occasionally. But it's not hurting anyone else, and well I don't have a problem with it.
That's just me, and I could be wrong. Whatever.

I guess it is possible. The drugs dont make the problems go away they just take your mind off them for a while I guess

i know i'm on the meds. what are you taking? that's what i want to know first. because it is true that your body can develope a "tolerance" to these medicines. i know, they had to keep upping the dose of my zoloft over the past two years until finally my body couldn't handle the side effects anymore. so they had to team me up with another one. it could be that you aren't on the right one... or the right mix, you know? and with anti-depressants, they aren't supposed to make you "happy". they are supposed to help you to be able to feel happy. not every day is supposed to be a five star day.

do you go to talk therapy? because maybe you should... to get to the root of your cutting. that's what got me to stop cutting. but make sure that if you do go see a therapist (if you aren't already) that you are absolutely comfortable with them. that is the key in many theraputic progress. if they say anything to you that makes you feel angry, defensive, sad, or any negative feelings along those lines, then i suggest you see a different one.

i take zoloft and provigil (for energy to counterbalance the side effect of the zoloft). i have only been on provigil for less than a week... i think it's going pretty good maybe you should get your medications changed and see if that makes a difference. sometimes it really does make a HUGE difference! and i understand not really KNOWING why you cut. i did that too. my boyfriend would always ask me, "why do you do it baby?" and i'd answer either "i don't know" or something to the best of my ability. just take a look at your triggers, what makes you want to cut, when you normally cut and where. also look for certain patters on where, when, why, who, or what trigger that desire for release... you may find out a lot that you didn't know! i know that i realized once i began to come out of my depression a little that i not only cut for release, but as a punishment for myself. also, it was a physical manifestation of how bad i felt on the inside. so take a look, think for awhile, and go see your doctor!

well it's mainly why you cut. if you cut for the pure bloodlust (like a few friends of mine, and hell i've even done it a few times) then that's fine. but if you are doing it for other reason, like to punish yourself, harm yourself, revenge, anger, or anything negative like that, then that's self-destructive and that's REALLY not healthy. that leads to other things... believe me, there comes a certain point where cutting isn't enough and you do other things to satisfy that tendoncy.

Oh, shit. That was his last post . . . . . about 2 weeks ago. Is anyone else concerned?

Did wonder where he got to, didnt think it was that long a break though. Might just be sticking to Vampires.com or something I`m nto sure since I dont go there.
