I'm not usually one to broadcast, but oh well. Please, help someone still adjusting to the post-high school dating scene.
Ok, so I've been talking to her for a few weeks, gone out a few times...She's a very nice girl, I like her. We get along pretty well, we have some common interests...
Problem is that for once, I keep finding myself at a loss for words. I'm just having trouble figuring out what to say...I've pretty much exhausted the general topics, at least I think so. I'm not nervous, I'm pretty comfortable around her.
Is this just because we're still getting to know each other? Or is it because we just don't have anything to talk about? Any thoughts? I mean, when we get a good topic going, its pretty good. But its been tough to do that, especially in person. Hey, bread is a good time for me...a-woodle-oo-doo, singing bread is a good time for EVERYbody...

Are there uncomfortable silences? You shouldn't force topics like an interview. You and this girl are supposed to be around each other because you want to be around each other. After that feeling, everything else should flow naturally from there. Perhaps, some space is necessary in order to have things to talk about. General chit-chat is always a good thing because it shows you care about their day-to-day life. Deep things are always tempting to get into, but not always good to get addicted to that type of conversation. Hope that helps. i believe in practicing compassion.

I think that means if you spend more time apart you'll have more to talk about.
Do you have much in common? If getting a good conversation going is a constant effort then maybe she's not as comfortable around you as you feel around her, or she's just not into you that much. A golden energy

Its hard to tell. Usually I can read people fairly well, but here I can't seem to do that. Yes, I would know the difference. Best I got is what she says, and she's a pretty up-front person. Hey, bread is a good time for me...a-woodle-oo-doo, singing bread is a good time for EVERYbody...

I know that in my case when those happen it's usually because I want to say something I'm not entirely sure is appropriate or feel like I talk too much. Though... in my current relationship I'm not having problems in real life conversation, rather on line... Because I use the internet and he doesn't....

We're dating, I suppose that's "official"? I don't know, I thought these definitions of terms ended with high school. Hey, bread is a good time for me...a-woodle-oo-doo, singing bread is a good time for EVERYbody...

Well then, is it a defined relationship with terms and boundaries, or is it a sexual only thing? Because believe me, that does not with high school. In fact, not defining a relationship carries worse drama outside of high school from what I can tell. No, not sexual. This is the kind of "we both are looking for something stable and steady" thing. And I think its going well. I think. Hey, bread is a good time for me...a-woodle-oo-doo, singing bread is a good time for EVERYbody...

I hereby state that part of the silences may be waiting for some sort of definition to be discussed then. That's the source of my silence in person nine times out of ten. You're doing the actual date thing? Eek. I don't do that so I don't know. I just sort of... talk and flirt and then end up with some one.
Uhm... are you two talking outside of the dates? Did you know eachother before going out the first time? Keep me rather in this cage and feed me sparingly if you dare To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

if you're dating, you're more than likely feeling the chemistry out to know if she's someone you want to spend "more" time with. and by more, i mean a helluva lot of time. so the thing to consider is.. is the chemistry just not working?
your girlfriend is someone you want to become your best friend. if you aren't having a good time, what's the point? now i know that you *might* be having a good time despite the silence, which is actually healthy. but i'm not getting that vibe from you. it sounds like awkward silence.
i'm not saying to jump ship, but be honest with yourself about how well it's working out. and establish something in terms of where you two are at. i mean, let her know your intentions, at least. that does a lot for a relationship.

If she doesn't like you for you then she's not worth it.
Maybe she's shy? A golden energy

Good timing, surreal. Today we talked it out, and the chemistry just isn't there, and it seems we were both hoping and it just didn't exists. And that is, as they say, that. Hey, bread is a good time for me...a-woodle-oo-doo, singing bread is a good time for EVERYbody...
