I worked in 3 different Honda factories. Honda engineers are the most anal retentive about quality that I've ever seen. You can't go wrong with one of their cars, and they are made in America. The Honda Accord is the most American car you can buy.

at 149,999 miles you better have it sold though... cause at 150,000 the engines tend to develope major problems...

OH, and don't get the VW... they have brake problems...

I owned a honda civic... it was okay, but the dealership here in town sucks. They ripped me off big time. So I don't really know if I would go with honda... maybe acura, they are owned by the same corp. but acura is more "luxury". Bah.

And as for american cars.... I'm sorry but the last time I drove a chevy... it sucked! It had no pick up what so ever. It's like driving a grocery go getter... LAME! Same goes for FORD except for their new mustangs... but the last go around they had with producing the mustang they sucked too. To heavy and not enough leg room! Even for a small person my size. I know tall people!

But these are my opinions of cars.

I was really considering the Nissan 350Z but I also have to consider the cost of my insurance... a 2 door sports car isn't going to be cheap in insurance especially full coverage.

I also took into consideration that yes certain makes of cars have more expensive parts. Toyota parts are high priced, and I know for a fact that if I get a 6-speed manual in a new eclipse I will one day have to replace the clutch and that is the most unorthodox clutch arrangement I've ever seen! PAIN IN THE BUTT!

Maybe I should just get one of those hybrid cars? No pick up... no top speed... just... a gas saver.

Wait... that's lame too. *sigh*

My neighbor has one of those.. he and his wife just bought a house down here and have been travelling back and forth continiously between wash. state and utah.. put over 10K miles on it in a short time.. thing is still getting 46mpg city!! And quiter than my computer!! i think it's called the prias or something like that.. $18K out the door with some addons..
