you're so clever, any advice ...
Honest compliments are good when slipped into the beginning of a polite conversation, especially if they compliment something that the woman isn't expecting. For example, if a woman has startlingly beautiful eyes, then compliment her on her hair. If she's heard the eye thing a thousand times, she'll take the compliment on her hair to mean that you're actually paying attention to her, not just her best features.
How's that?

well, than, the first thing you have to do is teach your self assertion, and at that point...it's all uphill.
subtle confidence is a turn on,if a man holds his head up, looks you in the eyes and smiles brightly before offering some polite flattery, your foot is in the door... as long as it's not...overconfidence or excessively forced, such displays tend to be a turn off.

Have to agree as this is something I strangely learned throu my photography sessions with models...
Put a camera in my hand and I become very confident without being cocky. I know I'm the one in control and the other person is looking at me for direction and guidance.
So I can look them in the face (women love this, holding eye contact with a woman I have found is a big turn on to them), smile make little stupid jokes (but they work because you have that confidence to pull them off) and can lead and direct a conversation without ever feeling pushy or brash.
Basically what I'm saying is find that area where you feel quietly confident but is also an interest in the other person's life. Be yourself in that comfort zone and believe me it will work wonders...
...now if only I can find a bloody single model

i imagine the bloody ones would be single...carrie comes to mind.
but i guess this thread does come down to confidence, if there's no confidence than why bother pursuing the art of wooing, it's fun, thrilling and flattering, but it needs the confidence to work.
