So. There has been an arguement amongst some people I know. It came down to what would people prefer in life, as a whole.

Would they prefer Anarchy, which is a society without laws or goverment or hierarchal structure, everyone equal with few rules.

-Or- Would they prefer Nihilism, which is a total rejection of goverment, laws, or hierarchal structures of any kind, including beliefs...

-Or- Would they rather have a goverment to make them feel like they have boundries?

It sounds silly to ask, but many people wonder whether or not people could live without a government. I myself live in a minor and small society with friends, in a more Anarchy filled enviroment as it keeps it calm and easy.

What sparked this arguement was when I saw a "group" who claimed they supported both Nihilism and Anarchy... they are different in many ways, but mainly one says that it rejects the idea of having one person having more power than another person (anarchy). The other says that it rejects everything structured, including society (nihilism).

Please let me know what you all think.

I would prefer Anarchy, because then I could form an army to rape pillage and murder all who I want, and form a new fascist monarchy in which all would be forced to worship me as a god. Good ole anarchy.

In life as a whole, it would seem the people have preferred democracy over anything else so for, which would mean choice C would be the obvious answer to this somewhat juvenile question.

Okay, in an anarchist state, there'd be no government. No police, no leaders... nothing to govern a person but their own set of moral values. In today's society, if anarchy was truly unleashed, how long do you think it would be before nihilism took over? Greed would reign supreme and people would slowly succumb to it. They'd eventually abandon whatever beliefs they had and give in to survivalism.
And I'm talking about the majority of Americans in the United States. We may not like to admit it, but if it came down to it, it would be a fucking dog-eat-dog situation in either case.

punk rock is dead and so is anarchy. nilis seem so boaring, and usually amount to shit. its the guy that thinks "yeah, i know i have boundries and laws but i want to figure out how to get over them, get around them, go through them" that's going to accel. get new friends.

fudel europe is the best example, shit charlamange is a good example. no laws, no rules, no governing, except for the vatican, but shit, they were so far away and com took as long as the guy who rode the horse to get it there. the weak flock towards the strong, its life, its tried and true. it all breaks down to the ability to use violence and drive.

Exactly. When we fall into such a state, it'd be easy for anyone person who, either by force or by bribe, could control a group of people and rise to power, whether it be limited to a small region, or a decent size army bent on continental conquest.

No actually , old enough to drink. That should just give you enough to realize I can think, unlike some random horny teenager that thinks he is hot when it comes to philosophical points of view and arguements. In truth, yes, a lawless state would not be for every single person, but for those that could handle it, it would be paradise... so the statement just made does prove that the Lifestyle of anarchy could be achieved for few... but never as a whole.

As for punk rock, which I think is a post below yours... thats been on life support... I agree its time to pull the plug as it is beyond its own age and expiration... Never really listened to it myself...

Any system can work if you base the view on a small group of people. Socialism can still work. Even on a large scale, it could work... if designed and set up correctly.
