I have it and I hate it. I despise the wretched mop with the flames of a phoenix but I know not what to do about it!

At the moment it is different colours due to a botched home dye job (of which I reign supreme)- orangey at the tips, then fading to dark blonde in the middle, light blonde at the top, and some unfathomable combination of all three in some places.

It looks the most infernal mess and I have often contemplated shaving or chopping the whole lot off as so often does it reduce me to tears.

I have very fair colouring- blonde eyebrows and freckles- so I can't have it coloured dark anymore, but it looks terrible as it is!

I get teased and abused so much for my natural colour that I get quite miserable and thus I don't want it, but it doesn't take colour very well and the hassle and expense of constantly doing my roots I could do without.
The other option is highlights, (which my hairdresser did but because she was so timid with them they don't show up), maybe in caramel/honey tones.

This is a cry for help, because I can't stand looking in the mirror everyday and feeling like utter shit because of some genetic mistake.
Help!!

I don't think i've seen a picture of you with red hair, but i can imagine you would look good. Like spikeless said, fuck them. It's their problem. Loads of people have a fetish for red heads! If it's really bothering you, go to the hairdressers and ask them to colour your hair the same colour as your eyebrows. Don't ask for highlights, they won't do the job!

Lils no colour I put in my hair lasts very long! Im always looking for a change! In the winter I like dark hair, spring red, summer blonde and autumn a mahogany! Lord knows the damage im doing it but its fun

I used to hate having red hair. I always wanted to have jet black hair when i was a kid, which might be part of why i loved the anne shirley books.

Eventually, i got used to it, and liked that my hair was different. I've only highlighted it once, otherwise i don't let chemicals near it. Then I dreaded it, so now other than putting some wax in it every once in a while, and washing it, i don't mess with it.

Red isn't so bad once you get used to it. (Redheads also have a tendancy to look younger longer. hiden blessing.)

Mmm if I could afford I would get some! I have some spritz stuff which claims to give it a kinda shaggy wavy look, so that will be tried in due course.

Haha its a joke. It never goes right, im at a loose end because I simply have no idea how to wear it! I want the wavy just off the beach look but I don't want to use any heated appliances that will damage it. Why are things so difficult??!?!
