I'm sick, and i know there has to be many others who feel likewise, of the in-bickering/arguing/debating/"discussing"/ or whatever you wanna call it, about what defines "goth".
Personally, i dress goth, act goth (watever that means), think goth, but i don't listen really to any goth bands. Does that make me not goth?
Just go around in life self-deprecating yourself. Then no one can criticize you or insult you. Lol.

all you have to do to be the typical goth is:
1) be antisocial
2) cut yourself up just to say that you have mental problems
display any form of clinical depression
4) listen to NIN
5) wear all black with dark smoky makeup
6) act very cynical and like a smartass to everyone, using large words to confuse their small, superficial pop-culture world
