This might sound sort of strange, but if you make it right and mix it right it can taste really good. I haven't done it in a few years, I'm looking off a card I wrote down the amount of ingredients on.
1. Make some concentrated black tea by simmering 6 tablespoons of dried leaves in a pot with 8-12 oz. water. Don't boil too much, it will ruin the flavor.
2. Make some spruce needle tea in a similar way with about two feet total from the end of the branches (it would take forever to pick off the needles). This needs to be steeped longer to get out the flavor.
3. Make a quart of COLD STEEPED mint tea by putting 4 tablespoons of spearmint and 2 tablespoons of peppermint in a quart of cold fresh water in a soda bottle.
Mix a little of each of these concentrates together along with water for dilution for a glass of tea and find the right mix. |
