I have it in REALLY BADLY for this girl I know. She is ALL I think about. Quite literally too. I think I'm obssessed! Anyways, I have finally decided that asking her out is the best idea, but I don't know how to do it!!! She is very silent, nice, respectful, and I always grow very shy around her. Just fyi: I HAVE given her gifts in the past to hint, but I don't think she ever made the connection (or wanted to make the connection). What do I do? I am seriously confused and have no clue what I should do! How to I confront her? Mix it with conversation, or tell her straight up? Gift, or no gift with the proposal (of dating)? I would never ask this girl if she wanted to have sex. I really don't like her for her body (though she has the most beautiful face I have ever seen). And just saying, I completely wussed out and barely spoke to her. And then after talking to her best friend, I am in limbo as to whether or not I will ask her out, for reasons of a) her best freind likes me and she would not date someone her best friend liked, b) she doesnt at all seem interested in me and c) her best friend told me that she smoked, and I really don't like smokers.

Judging by your posts on here, I can say the following will most likely happen:

You will never ask her out, because you have no balls.
She will date someone else, because she never knew you liked her.
You will put some posts on here complaining about it, because you even said yourself that you think you're obsessed.

Why are you afraid to ask her out? The worst that could happen is that she could say no. Big deal, you move on and find someone better. And don't try to drop hints on her, and don't tell her best friend to let it slip that you like her or anything, just fucking ask her. You know, most women are not going to consider dating a guy who doesn't even have enough nerve to ask her out. Get a backbone and just ask her out.

Althought statistically speaking, even if you do ask her out and she says yes, you two will probably only date for a few months before you end up breaking up. *shrug*

Thank you for those kind words. (I am sitting here carving your name into a beef log with a chainsaw). Actually, a lot of what you said has already occured to me, and that's one of the main reasons I don't ask ANYONE out almost ever. I will go to college, and then move away to some other state, and they will do the same, and we will never meet one another again. So whats the point in dating at this age? To get good at it? I will lose her either way, so maybe it would be better if I never had her. At leats then I won't miss her when she is gone.
