im afraid i dont believe you can exist within 2 cultures at the same time, likewise i dont believe in subculture. I onyl believe that there are cultures. And goth is not a culture. Its closer to a trend, or fashion craze as opposed to a culture, like Hip Hop is a trend and a Fashion craze, doesnt mean its going to fade away it just means its not a culture. | |

IF you were into Hip Hop youd give hip hop answers, both methods are poor ways to choose a career. IMO | |

good way of putting it. but this is one label there is no concrete essence of (as you put it) and so many of you would negate that but, at least in america, goth is not in any way concrete or set.
perhaps you need some labels (i'm tall) but others.. are they really worth claiming? this is where common sense comes into play.
my brother in law is "all about hip hop. the real thing, etc." and he's a great guy, but he closes himself off to so many great genres of music due to this. "evanescence is whack"..
that irks me when he says that simply because the band doesn't have enough "samples". psshh. | |
