Because it is much easier to look at the issues of others that to look within self. Most people have a lot of pain from either big or small issues and they fear facing those hurts. No one likes to hurt inside themself. So they bury these things and refuse to look at them or fix them, because it is less painful and much easier that way. Facing the darkness inside yourself is humbling, when you find you are no better than anyone else, it's quite a shock.
Humanity as a whole is flawed by their upbringing. Inside, where it is hidden, we desire to do the right thing, our soul wishes to be free and to know all; however, society has taught us that what
we want is not as important as what
the whole wants.
Remember in the Star Trek Movie when Spock was dying and he said: "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"? I always knew that line was bullshit, because who's to know? Every soul is as valuable as the next one, but the human part of us is too lazy, tired, or beaten down by the rest of society to do what is "right" that what no longer (as a whole) seek what is truly right for ourselves, and for humanity.
Everyone on the "good" side of humanity wishes only happiness for people, but refuses to acknowledge that the basic traits of humanity are still within us. You cannot hide from selfishness, or jealousy (just 2 examples) you have to accept them, and realize that those are basics which make us strive to be better as an individual. And, shit also just happens. Most of who and what we are is denied, to be thought of as good.
And because, *smiles softly* with your past issues, of what has happened to you, there is anger inside, and you wish to be "good" so you will not seek the "darkness" within for fear of what it could make you see about who you truly are.

Why can I never find a dream in my head that is not tainted?

*smiles again* because Jobe, you feel dirty. You feel undeserving, you were taught that at a very young age. Your innnocence was harshly taken away and replaced with a feeling of unworthiness, and it isn't true. No one is unworthy. Everyone is as valuable as the next, in some way.

Why does the world find so much joy in the pain of others yet so little in the smile of a child?

The world does find joy in the smile of a young child. There are just those people, for whatever reasons they have, that exploit that joy for their own selfish purposes.

Why are there so many hard questions in life but so few easy answers?
Can you tell me? |
All questions in life are difficult. We have just been taught to answer certain questions, and not others. Programmed from youth as to what is acceptable and what is not, society in small manipulative ways has not tried to learn these answers, and for fear of the unknown, of what might happen if we knew them, they attempt to keep them hidden from all.
Jobe. On a personal note. Do not hide from that pain, but don't succumb to it either. You must find a way to co-exist with it and delve into the reasons for it. You have to be able to fully bear everything to yourself, without hiding, without denying. Once you do that, and gain acceptance that you are a human, who has faults, just like any other human, then you will be able to be happy again, with yourself and no one else... and once you are at peace with yourself, totally honest... then love will find you.
Good luck my friend.
