So, I had a go at their sleeve, but chopped it a bit as it was quite puffy, just ruffling a bit along the top. I see what you mean about the shoulders, and nipped them just a bit to get a sleeve in.
Otherwise, no probs.

Holy shit Nivve! Nice website! Thanks for posting that here, I have been looking for something along the lines of that ro help me improve on making my sleves... I still think the way I am making my corset is a little better than the pattern on that website because it consists of 2 pieces. Also the gussets are already in my pattern so I can just cut and sew wherever.

I hate those big ruffled sleves, they look so strange, thats why I wanted to make them smaller, I have a few pictures of bustle dresses that have the not too ruffled sleves on them, Im just worried about the bodice... Hmm, I should do something about the length of it I think, I hate going back through my patterns, Im never happy with them... I am however, going to keep the corset design and the chemise and briefs design...

Thanks for that website though, Im going to try that design for the jacket I think... Mainly because Im struggling with the origonal pattern....

Oh yeah, update...

I have been calling fabric stores all over this area to find some metal boning BUT nobody sells it now.... I am going to have to trail into toronto to grab some... AND some linin and homespun materials... Im sick and tired of this... Im not giving up though...

So yeah, these past few days have been shitty... TYrying to find the right materials has been really hard but I guess I will be finding some good materials in toronto in the next few days....

I have been slacking on the pattern thing as I have been preoccupied by attempting to draw a plan of what the dress will (hopefully) look like once it is finished.

I think Im going to get Sebastian to draw it as I can't draw for shit. (Hes a very talented artist.) That will be done by the end of this day so I will be scanning it in later so you can all take a look at what Im going to be doing and laugh at me when it doesn't turn out like the picture at all.

Anyway, I gotta call around a few more fabric stores in this area and see if I can save myself a trip to toronto.

I started on my bustle. Its just a bunch of fabric shapes and a few pieces of metal boning which I decided to buy from canadian tire! I went there to see if I can get anything that would be cheaper than mail order... Made out that if you look around for a while, you find just what your wanting...

So theres a good tip for all you seamstresses who are sruggling with costs.

Yeah, also, I bought a cameo broach from ebay... Just a sterling silver one but it will go great with the dress I am making...

So yeah... Im updating later once I have sewn the bustle togeather... Still working on the drawing of what it will look like once it is finished... (but you know what its like... You add on and add on untill it looks some-what like the drawing...)

I need people to draw some styles of bustle dresses, it can be anything you want, Im having big problems with the finished drawing but if anyone can draw what they think would look cool, I may take some of your ideas... In repayment, I will make them something, a dress, a top, a pair of pants etc... I will do it for free and I will even ship whatever I make for you over.

How's the cushion bustle?
It sounds perfect, but your last post still sounds like you sent it from bustle hell.
What's your fabric like?

I decided to do the cushion and then use the metal boning I bought from Canadian tire to give it shape so it will stay. I have started the bustle but I the need the linin and the cotton for it, which I am going to buy next thursday when I go down to Toronto. Im also still having problems with the bustle... Its pissing me off no end.. heh, Its just a minor problem that I can fix BUT being the bad tempered person I am, I just lose my temper and just shout at it all the time heh.

The material is awsome, I am using a heavy, old fashioned silk in a beige colour and some nice striped home spun in beige and white too, I wanted to cross colours so it matches. The material has been payed for and I have to go pick it up tomorrow as I had to place in an order... They said that it is hard to dye the silk I bought to match the home spun beige because it is different material, I pick it up tomorrow afternoon. (I ordered it in last week... Im really excited to see what it looks like! ) The lace was REALLY hard to find as most lace is now done via machine and its often a nylon thread which sucks... So I haggled with prices with the lady of the fabric store and got a good deal on a tull-like lace but made with cotton and REAL GOLD AND SILVER THREAD!!! I was happy with that. So yeah, I have most of my stuff...

I know what you mean about lace, it's all so fake these days it's almost plastic.
