well since the "computer help forum" has dissapeared from my vission il post here since it says suport

my dvd burner cant read any dvd:s (data,movies,games or empty) any idea what it might be ??

when i put a dvd that has contens it simply apears to be empty and when i put in an empty dvd it cant find it(CD:s work fine)

yea i tried that. and a friend said to check my powercable but it was fine to and it still isnt working

i think im gonne try to reformat my hard drive but i dont know if it will affect my interet connection since it goes through a router (wich i dont have the access codes to)

Edit: i meant to wright IDE cable not powercable >.<

Does the router automatically give IP adresses? If so you'll be fine. How old is the burner? Is it a cheap one? It could just be fucked.

the burner is 2 years old, the router is not automatic you have to type in the ip address ect. by hand but i have those so that isnt a problem however i dont have the codes that alow my internet deliverer to recognise my router

Do you have another computer you can try the burner in? Such as a friends? If so, try that. If it doesn't work than it's the burner for sure.
