Hello! My name is Caitlin and I am a college student. I am conducting an interview for my history class, American cultures and subcultures 1950-the present. My topic is concerning the Goth subculture. I am greatly interested and intrigued by this subculture. I can't say how excited I am to write a paper on such an interesting subject. Along with secondary sources, I hope to interview some people actually involved in this subculture. If you think you can help me just respond to this post! Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, most of the members of darkforum aren't Goth. We are all mostly Gawth. There is a big difference. Would you be interested in writing your report about Gawths instead of goths?

Go to YOUTUBE.com and type "Voltaire," who did an interview on CNN explaining "Goth" pretty well.

I use to be a Goth. Now I just hang out in the dark, mostly because I’m to tired to turn on the lights.

If you can find it, the book “The Gothic Tradition” gives a good overview of the entire Gothic art/literature movement through out history, I think it helps put things in their greater context. As for the Goth subculture it’s the first time these ideas have been centered on music and fashion and personified.

As Voltaire points out in the interview there are many tribes, you’ll need to try to interview as many people of different ages as possible to really understand it

so, you would have to do more digging if you want to find out about a "Goth" sub-culture, becasue by todays modern societies....mainly the teenage angsty goth attitude is, i wear dark clothes, imagine cutting myself, write apathetic poetry, and well, its all based off of a hot topic psuedo-goth phase........in teh meantime...i love voltaire....

i really like cooking and shooting. i enhance both activities by drinking. i like to drink and cook and shoot and cook. where's your house?
