they have an engine(again european)that can use water to power the car, it still requires the use of a gasoline, but the vehicle doesn't use as much.

popular science spends a lot of time discussing alternative fuels, not suprising, most of the tech is out of europe.

Why don't we go back to steam engines but without the coal part? Surely we can harness water to steam pressure now much more easily. And we can have a coffee maker strapped onto the side.

most power stations, infact nearly all use water and steam to generate electricity. the thing that makes them different, is how they heat the water to make the steam go through the turbines and make the electricity.

i been to a nuclear power plant, and must say i was impressed. lots more power generated, and less hideous gases created. just you get a box of depleted uranium now and again that stays radioactive for quite a long long time. but hell, the shit is there in the first place giving off radiation, mite as well use it and then put it back giving out less, in a container that you can drive trains into and drop from planes and it won't break.

i've seen a power plant that runs on methane generated from a landfill site too. that was cool.
