Can anyone recommend me some video games that are actually unique? Like, not just with some gimmick, but something interesting and new, I'm tired of the legions of generic third person shooters and sports games. I'd prefer Dreamcast games if possible, since I just got a new one and it's pretty easy to download games for it, but I can probably find whatever for all of the next-gen consoles...just for examples, here's some stuff I've enjoyed lately

i'd thought Psychic Force 2012 was rather original, 'till I found out it was a sequal to a playstation game.

i've heard good things about Shenmue--but never played it. but, then, everyone's heard of Shenmue, right?

actually, if you liked Parappa... Have you played Sonic Shuffle? i didn't much care for it, but it is very unique, or so seems to me, and many of the 'minigames' were rather fun (if somewhat random).

How about Jet Grind Radio? Crazy Taxi? Those were pretty original ideas.

there was one tank type game.. had options for tanks and then trying to find the places (and blow things up along the way) get them marked before the other tanks got you.. And it had a 2-4player mode where you took out each other.. forgot the name tho...

Is it for PlayStation? Because if it's it might be called Steel Reign... I played it once...

Monkey Ball (Any of them) are pretty god damn unique. Warioware Inc. and Mario Party (Any number) is pretty fun and unique as well.

For fighting, I'd say Soul Calibur on the dreamcast was probably the best fighting game. Just...the most to do.

RPG's, well, they all have a different story line, but essentially its level up, get everything, save the day, so I dunno if you're into them. But Neverwinter Nights and the expansions (PC) are good.

X-men Legends was pretty fuckin' tight if you were ever into those.

Sanity's Requiem was a unique game. Kinda of a shitty game, but unique. I can't remember the title before Sanity's Requiem though. Sorry. I know someone else will jump on my brain fart and tell ya.

Silent Hill 4 was nuts.

If you have never played them, look to the past and toward the Adventures of Lolo games.

Is Jet Grind Radio about a bunch of Japanese teens on rollerblades?

'Cause if it is then I have it but it's called Jetset Radio Future.

I like morrowind and the neverwinter - type rpg's. You can be quite advanced in the game and still die to a plagued rat. That's so cool. As far as the Japanese Rpg's are going I'm not too impressed. I've yet to see a really good storyline AND gameplay without any of the horrible cliche's. So far Shadow Hearts 2 seems to be worth having a go at.

Jetset Radio Future was the sequal.
