Ok. I am playing the Beta. I squeezed in

I am lvl 5. Just took the Soldier branch. Not bad. Graphics are fair to excellent. Customization is pretty good. You of course can only play a human. I am sure later on you might be able to play some of the friendly races but for now only human.
You start fresh off the wormhole boat as a noob. At lvl 5 you get your first choice between being a Soldier or a Medic. There are further branches off of that later in the game.
The first awesome thing I noticed was "Cloning". At any point in the game you can Clone your toon, renaming them and even giving them a complete makeover including gender. You can then play the clone from the splitting point without having to reroll another toon. FUCK YEAH!!!! Saves all the time and trouble of leveling up another toon to try another branch. Best idea for an MMO yet.

This game reminds me in some instances of a FPS with heavy RPG overtones.
I am still reserving my over all judgement until I lvl some more but so far the game is pretty, intuitive, and very fun

I would rate it a 7- 71/2 on a scale of 1-10 Only because of the ammo issues and the lag issues so far. If they fix those issues I would jump it to a 9

I have thought of trying this game, just not sure if you it is worth my effort or not... i have been having issues playing some of the new games on my PC such as Bioshock demo crashign and such. Maybe I should wait for them all to be released and just get a PS3 or Xbox360

Luckily Tabula Rasa has some good options for downgrading performance in order to run on lower end systems. The graphics look ok turned down. They start to look a lot better when you tune it up.

Bioshock I have heard is a memory hog. It sucks your memory dry Plus a few complaints I have heard sound like memory leaks. So they may/should look at a patch for that. I have yet to try Bioshock though mainly because I am not a huge FPS fan though I do sometimes play them.
