who here likes rpg games and why

rpg games are probably the most popular console game genre for genXers...

They make me forget how horrifying reality is.

I'm making one with some friends. Its working title is Jim and Bob's Super Adventure.

wheeeee.... cuz they is challenging iffen you get the right ones... and it is fun to watch your character whether it be pen and paper or console.... grow and develop.....

computer games - cause they take so long.. :p

tabletop - cause making up a character in your head and working it out..fantasizing..that does it for me

like both computer and pen and paper.

like computer rpgs for gameplay and storyline, and ability to watch your character grow.

like pen and paper for being so different from most other games, for great possibilities for imagination, for social interaction and for good storyline (that's if DM made one though ).

just a fun way to spend time.

Because when I play them under the influence of hallucinigenics it appears that I am somehow inside my character's world, I feel his/her emotions and I am in their surroundings, I also like to kill people.

Escapism primarily,

But I like the whole getting to see situations from different (sometimes fucked up) perspectives.

Besides who doesn't wanna leap around with a lightsaber or be a vampire or whatever?

There are two big reasons why
one: The depth of the game
Two: I can totally get into the game and forget about everything that is shitty about my life....like myself
But hell it's all about the Sega genesis game called LANDSTALKER

hmm...i like the story and strategy...other than that....its too slow...

Character devlopment, which you don't get in othr games. Though I also am a hardcore addict of Marvel vs. Capcom. I just wish more arcade fighting games had character development.

I like rpg games because...They are the realy realy fun,i can get really into them,the char development,and probubly more i just cant think of them right now.

I like RPGs because their deep story line, combined with deep characters and the gameplay itself is not bad. Though it is very addictive and sometimes character building could be very time comsuming, but overall I really enjoy playing RPGs

I love em and I want more. I like em cos you get to find secret stuff that make you feel far superior to your b/f if he didn't find it when he hogged it the first time

do you people spend alot of time lvling up? i dont....

I do.I want lvl 99 if I like the game that much to put in the time.
