Ohhhh the graphics have received a major boost.
The sound is even greater.
Now they have 4 actual slots for the dang controller.
ALL DVD's now work.
Cd's are still playable.
And it comes with a built in modem.
All for 299!


That is how it will be... for that is how stupid our society is. We've just received the X-Box, Gamecube, and PS2.. and yet in 2005 they are preparing to release the PS3, under whatever name it will be called. Why? I don't know why... I don't know...... am I the only person who thinks they should work on the existing consoles until they've pushed them to their furthest before shipping out a new one?

I agree with it. Playstation was still fine. But its the competition within the market that forces these changes...

Bah, I still stick to old good PC. This whole console thing became too stupid in my eyes. It became like a PC, with a lots of accessories like modem, mouse, etc, but can only be used for games and cannot be upgraded. So instead of upgrading their computer once a year paying $200-300, that can be used for everything, people spend the same amount buying an absolutely new console for playing latest games. And if the game you would really like to play is released on a different console, you're screwed. Ahh, how much I would like a time to come, when there will be no consoles anymore, and all games would be released for PC...

PS2 development began three months after release of the original. With the speed the technology advances, Sony are merely hedging their bets, you don't become and stay king of the industry with no plan for the future. Knowing what the original PS was capable of and making a reasonable prediction about the future optimal capability of the PS2 and when it will reach this point, I'm sure Sony is timing of PS3 release to coincide.

Tch no way will the PC lead the games market.I dont think any Japanese person would want to press Ctrl, Atl, Delete over and over again.

Jesus... just read an article and it says that the one processor for the PS3 will be 100 times better then the Pentium 4 on a 2.5 gigahertz comp.

Why? the fatser it is, the more polygons it can render. Plus they can add all sorts of fancy shaders through more hi tech hardware.

That would be lovely indeed, but I`ve heard a nasty rumor going around. I don`t have any hard evidence though. It seems that a group of game companies under leadership of microsoft have decided to quit games all together on the pc, because they were all suffering losses because of all the illegal copies. I don`t know how reliable this is, but I sure as hell hope this rumor is false

lol, its just as easy to pirate other games for different consoles. I mean blizzard sold how many copies of warcraft 3?

They make a dent but not much considering the amount they make from it.

Cheaper to just move over to another media format like DVDs, or those terrabyte CDs I keep reading about.

Thats just absurd.

1. Getting better graphics is not a step forward, that is easily demonstrated by numerous games.

2. If the PC stops receiving video games, then video games would be having the same problem, since there are already X-Box emulators, supposedly, that are in existence.

If something like this will happen, then it will be a good time for smaller companies to rise on PC market, because there won't be a lot of competition. And there is plenty of companies that are making games for PC only/mostly, like Black Isle Studios, Blizzard, etc. Big companies will be foulish to not release their games. Otherwise the quality of games will drop dramatically. I mean, in my Games Top 100 there is about 10 games from consoles...

It is a step forward, the only problem is they take a step backward in gameplay.

Black Isle rules...... I am patiently waiting for Fallout 3... those games whomp ass..... anyone hear if they are even in development on it???? I know they have been very busy in the D&D market.....

Well, they just finished Icewind Dale 2. I guess they will start another project now. But if Fallout 3 is going to be depends on what Interplay will want.
