| Phantasy Star Game-thing -

Just released (well over here, anyways) was the much awaited arrival of the game Phantasy Star Collections for the GBA. It's basically PSI, II, and III put together in one game. Sadly, the omitting of PSIV leaves me kind of at a standoff with it. But three for the price of one is very appealing. They haven't updated the graphics or changed the storyline, so it's still the same games you remember. I'm hoping they'll release PSIV separately At Least, that would be awesome. I've only played these games through Sega Channel and emulation, it'd be great to have a portable version. Wise man say: Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza.

i have thought of getting a gameboy just to replay these games. In case you wish to know man, they are rereleasing Phantasy Satr 1 on the PS2 sometime in the future. I have also heard rumors of a Phantasy Star V You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

really, phantasy star I on the PS2? sounds like they would do some heavy reconstructing to it...not sure about that. PS V i've heard rumors about for years, though none have really been dependable. Wise man say: Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza.

for the new PS1 and ya i have thought of emailing Sega to see if it's true or not. btw do you play PSO? You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

the dungeons look like a d&d game...but i'd still buy it if i owned a PS2.
well, i have played PSO, in the past. i owned both versions on dreamcast. i'll admit though with all my bad talk on this game i've actually exceeded past level 100. i'd play it, but my dreamcast broke and i already sold it off. i'm not too interested in starting over.
plus, i have to commend sega's ability in hacker blocks. there was really not as much a threat online as i had imagined Wise man say: Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza.

the PS series is really the only RPG i can say that i have played every one of. i have PSO ver 1 for the dreamcast but never played it online. just somewhat played it off line. I have read that the GBA versions of PS are exactly the same as the original genisis games. and luckily i still own PS IV. though i would like to know what happened to my copies of 2 and 3 You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. one of my favorite concepts in PSIV was the ability to combine magic attacks and having preset macros in fights. you may find it interesting to know they are in the works of an animation series with them as some of the main characters, but it's still up in the air. i could easily say IV was my favorite, and if thefinalw0rd saw this thread he would probably back me up on that.
i never really understood why there was such a time gap from IV to PSO, i thought the company was making substantial profits off of this game. If 3D Ages pulls through I will be surprised, much of the more loyal fans to the series might be turned down from the revamped graphics. i was amazed to see the graphics on PSO when i first saw it and wondered why it took the Final Fantasy people so long to create something close to how good PSO looked. PS IV is the only one in the series i have yet to finish, but i have been playing it and well restarted to play it recently. I have found myself going back to the old style RPG's over the last little while and find them more enjoyable. I would have loved to see a movie based on the series and am greatly hoping to see PS V You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. I am now wondering if i should gett he X-Box version of PSO and play it online? it does seem to be an enjoyable game, and i think i'd rather pay Sega, then pay sony for the FF XI online game. You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

if you're planning to go online, then XBOX might just be your best bet. I remember the dreamcast days online. Can you imagine that game on 56k? That's why most people couldn't play for more than 30 minutes until they threw their controller agaist the wall (or at a cat). XBOX Live will be broadband connection only, and they've put a lot of money into high-performance servers. I've downloaded PSO for PC, but as I thought, the graphics were weak and the frame rate wasn't too impressive. XBOX would probably give you the best mix of everything online.
and as for FFXI, that's going to be only for PS2 right? you'd still have to go out and buy the additional adapter to get online at all. i haven't seen any screenshots or read much about the game, so I can't really judge which is a better buy.
and do you know the release date for the XBOX version? i'm thinking i'd like to get it myself as well Wise man say: Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza.

FFXI is out for the PC at the moment, and will be released for the PS2 in the near fututre. From what i understand there is no plans for it to be released on the X-Box, but i luck ou t in that i can play the game on the PC or PS2. I have not decided if i wish to play it or just stick with the offline FF games. If it is anything like wasting my time playing EQ then i probably won't bother You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. PSO is fine but PSV would have been much better. They already released the remake of I in Japan and it got mediocre reviews. It is most likely not being translated into anything else. Fucking your mother doesn't make me any less of a HOMO.

My beef with the remake mostly involves everyone having really bad hair...
::shrug:: Never got to play PS1. lol... I might buy it for my brother as a gift just so I can play it on his Playstation. :deal:
PSIV was good--but two was better, IMHO. IV's dungeons were too easy... And II's were too hard. ::shrug::
There's been talk of a V for ever... But from everything I've heard it's nothing more than just talk. It seems like it always builds up right before they release something else.
They did it right before PSC on Sega CD, and right before PSO... Not right before the remake? ::shrug:: Just a thought.
In case anyone's interested, you can go here and find just about whatever you want on the subject. Just about... if I can make just nine people a day stare at me in abject horror and confusion... i think i've done my job.
there are only 10 kinds of people in the world: those that can read binary, and those that can't.
you know what? i still want a girl with a short skirt and a long jacket. (%)

after doing some searching, i've found a rom for this Phantasy Star Collections. It can be downloaded HERE
though it would kind of defeat the purpose of it being portable. (You need a GBA emulator to run this, do a google search on Visual Boy Advance) Wise man say: Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza.
