Lately I'm having a hard time selecting a new fighting game, most of the fighting games that are released lately are just an improved version of old games. Take Bloody Roar for example sure it's great when it was released then the second and third version came out and nothing much changed except for the characters. So I am wondering if you guys can tell me a title of a good fighting game that I could buy, that is not old and has something new...

gee, i dunno... TEKKEN 4?!?! whats wrong with a genre updating a storyline, graphics, and altering gameplay while keeping the same button scheme?

There`s Gekido for the GBA for a scrolling beat em up or just wait for Soul Calibur 2 I`d say.

SC2 will be nice... but its basically just Tekken with weapons... and id stay faaaar far away from the new MK

Tekken with weapons? Its a better game with better characters and sub quests, I thought that about the first even compared to the lastest Tekken.

i dont like 3d fighting games much....i say stick to the original 2d...
Guilty gear x is a good game but ive only played it for a day....but it doesnt have as many great features as Marvel vs Capcom 2...which i must say is the best fighting game ive played....but some classics like samurai showdown are hard to beat...

I rented Marvel superheroes vs. Streetfighter, it was cool to play 2 player with. But they made the final boss fucking impossible . . .
Ergiez was pretty cool because you could fight as FFVII characters, they should have done another version of that game with more Final Fantasy characters.

I'm not sure how good of a game this will be, but "Celebrity DeathMatch" is coming out, it might be fun. If you want to make your own, you can get "Fighter Maker 2" which should be out soon. There is also "Pride FC" coming out, which is similar to UFC but has more people and more fighting styles. And of course there is "Tekken 4", "Soul Calibur 2", and "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance".

I don't know about you guys but I really like 2ds better, because it's very fast paced and maybe I'm just used to it. Some great 2d games that I really liked are Jojo's bizzare adventure, Samurai Showdown and Marvel vs Capcom maybe because of their unique gaming formula. Like you can summon stands in Jojo and you can lose weapons in Showdown.

Marvel vs SF rocks, Cyber Akuma is about the only enemy who is a challenge, damn Shining Gou Shock that he pulls out of nowhere and blitzes 3/4 of your life. Its especially good when you play 2player against a good player who doesn't just use aerial rave by tapping LP repeatedly, and who can use super cancels and triple bar hyper combos.
The Soul series is the finest 3D battler ever, Blade rocked for the subquests and Caliber rocked for the tactical side that the different stances brought.

marvel vs capcom 2 is the best of the vs series...but what sukz about it is....the final boss...i have more problems with jill....
