For those of you that have played any of the Elder Scrolls games (Arena, Daggerfall and the SUPER-ULTRA-PLATINUM Morrowind), you might have heard (or read) about the development of a fourth addition: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. After waiting so long for Fable, which generally flopped for those who have been following it, I feel a little empty handed in terms of XBox RPG's, so I'm really hoping for this game to rock out my speakerphone foot pedals.

More to the point, though, this game looks absolutely fantastic. If you haven't seen the ''leaked'' pictures featured in Game Informer magazine, here's a link to check out the mag scans (click on the thumbnails for super happy big pictures).

It's planned to come out on PC, Xbox 2 and perhaps even PS 3. Needless to say, it's far away from shelf time (seeing as how these consoles don't even exist yet). Oblivion (which might be called something else along the line) has already been in development for 2 years, and I've heard approx. release dates around Late 2005/Early 2006. But if anyone remembers how much Morrowind was pushed back...well, you can probably expect this game to be released a good 2 or 3 generations in the future.

Still, those graphics are killer. All kinds of rumors and stuff is being thrown around about Oblivion, but I've learned my lesson from Fable. I'll just spend a good 50-60 years playing Halo 2 to pass the time. But until Halo 2, I guess I can still stare at my feet for a while.

if it gives me the same freedom as morrowind did, id like it :3

That was one of the main things morrowind had going for it. If they limit that, then all the fancy graphics in the world are going to have trouble coping.
