This thread is for the more obscure games that despite their lack of popularity are kickass. Here's a couple:

NES - Galaxy 5000: I don't think I've ever played a more entertaining racing game. Plus the music is awsome.

N64 - Body Harvest: It's got a cheap-game feel to it, but the getting in and out of different vehicles is beyond cool.

DUDE !!! Galaxy 5000 was such a kick ass game !!! Easily one of the best games ever on the NES !!! As well as Ultimate Air Combat !! Both games were Awsome and I kept waiting for updated re releases of them on the new systems but .......Mabe I should yell at ACTIVION to put OUT !

for the rest of you who dont know G5000: it was a 3/4th very Marble Maddness looking hover car raceing game in space one track per planet ,the tracks were boobie trapped ,if you fell off the track ( or bumped or jumped ) you die ! and you get to fight the other cars around the tracks with weapons

For back then AWSOME graphics etc.cars even showed damage it was kinda the 1st rock n roll raceing !

a cool feature was that you made $$ and could buy better cars trick is you could ( didnt have to pay to) repair you car after ever race or if you made enough you could buy a better upgraded car ..whats diffrent here ? during the race if your new kick but car got destroyed you would then be given your last car JUST AS YOU LEFT IT !! game was outsanding in just about everyway ! hardest part was learning the controls and looking at some of the tracks to understand where the hell you were suppsed to go next ! lol but once you learned GAME ROCKED !! ID buy a NES just for this game! and thats why its asI call it a SYSTEM GAME

System Game : A game so awsome as it valadates buying the system JUST FOR THIS GAME !

Sega Gen: General Havock ,Eternal Champions ,& Sonic THH !
SNes: Ballz ,Zombies Ate My Neibours & Metroid 3
Sega Saturn : Virtual ON
PS1 : Twisted Metal 2

G5000 has the coolest music I ever heard for a game, especially for the part where you repair your vehicle. Ultimate Air Combat was pretty awsome too.

Another: Chopper Attack for N64. If you like shooting and blowing stuff up, this game offers copious ammounts of it. Plus the voice acting is unintentionally hilarious.

Pirates! Gold~Genesis

Definitely not your average platformer, this had to be my all-time favorite game during the Sega Channel days. The game played out at a bird's eye perspective as you sailed around the Carribean fighting pirate hunters, hunted for buried treasure, plundered unsuspecting towns, fought against mutinous crew, and inevitably grow old and weak. The game boasted a changing economy that you could sway to your country's favor to help fledgling cities flourish, or fall to ruin. The duels were pretty fun, if not ridiculously easy to exploit. Pirates! is a very random game a la Shadowrun, and at any given moment you may crash onto a deserted isle or be swept up by an enemy pirate.

I truly loved Primal for the XBox.......although the fighting engine could use more work.

Nethack - the only game thats been in development for over 15 years

Ive played other more modern games with fancy graphics and whatnot, but after awhile they all get boring, nethack doesnt...you just keep coming back to it
