Pirates! Gold~Genesis
Definitely not your average platformer, this had to be my all-time favorite game during the
Sega Channel days. The game played out at a bird's eye perspective as you sailed around the Carribean fighting pirate hunters, hunted for buried treasure, plundered unsuspecting towns, fought against mutinous crew, and inevitably grow old and weak. The game boasted a changing economy that you could sway to your country's favor to help fledgling cities flourish, or fall to ruin. The duels were pretty fun, if not ridiculously easy to exploit. Pirates! is a very random game a la
Shadowrun, and at any given moment you may crash onto a deserted isle or be swept up by an enemy pirate.
