You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

Nope I have broadband that I've clocked at 3 mbps myself. It's the game I'm not the only one who has trouble with it. You just have to watch what games you join...

If you join an online game like that I am pretty sure it runs it at the slowest connect speed.... so if someone is playing who only has a phone jack you can get really lagged....

Personaly, Halo is in horrible condition. Now, I love the Xbox game and I am a huge Halo fan, but the port to the PC was filled with WAY too many bugs and the lag on the net is absoulutely horrible. Even with a top end machine and a broadband connection, it still is very jumpy and just bad.
...on a never ending struggle to rid the world of Counter Strike.
it's really not a hardware issue for PC Halo. you might as well pump up the graphics and textures as high as you can get them, the difference in lag is minimal. besides i was never too keen on the idea of PC Halo at all, Halo 2 with XBox Live (i am hoping) will perform much better than this sad sack of crap bungie is passing off as a $50 port. personally, i feel that playing halo online will take away its genuine fun-factor down a few notches as the anonymity will make games less casual. it just won't seem that rewarding killing a [CHE|DthWizrd or what ever.

Online play has its advantages though... You learn to play with lots of different people so over all your play style and skill are increased. Also for those banshee freaks who can't wait for Halo 2 it's a nice way to play Multiplayer with Banshees. Also handy if you're too lazy to go to a friend's house to play halo... just school em onine.
In conclusion: All the bullshit reasons I just made up? Are just because I don't have an Xbox.

yes, but i am not paying 30 extra bucks for a XBox USB controller, because playing a game like Halo just doesn't feel right with keyboard and mouse controls.however it seems almost necessary to use a mouse if you want to stand any chance against people online. Cranking up to the 10 sensitivity in PC Halo is incredibly sluggish while (for me) a sensitivity of 5 is awkwardly high enough on an XBox controller. if the controller was free (yeah right) with the game and the sensitivity between the controller and the mouse was tweaked, then i would be happy. actually i probably wouldn't be happy since it's still a crappy game on PC.
