hm, a Deep Philosophical thought came to mind, Why is it that Girls really cannot play video games...Sure there are exceptions, but there are more guys that are good at video games than there are Girls.

They may play them but they are no where near as good.

Its not agression that always counts as there are different genres like wargames that need tactical thought rather than anger or quick reflexes.

I`ve seen more than a few games programes with players facing off against each other but only in one did a girl win.I`ve never thought of either gender as more aggressive than the other or seen any proof otherwise.

Females are quite capable of demonstrating intelligence, wit, and manual dexterity to a degree far above normal. Just as Males are. You Monkeys are a strange lot placing so much Faith within a small dangling piece of meat.

Most of the talet in gaming comes from teen to mid 20`s males. Which can be proven from every competition ever made in gaming.

This is just a little bit of a thought... Millions of years ago, men were the hunters, and women the gatherers. Men had to judge space and distance in order to hunt on the plains and in the forest, and women had to traverse far into the wiilderness for food, and make it back by landmarks. I think that's why women go by land marks when driving and men go by distance and direction. ANYWAY, my point is... men (guys) judge by distance and women don't so well, and since video games are 3-D (kinda), men have a better time seeing all the little things on the screen that pertain to that distance and all that stuff and I have lost my train of thought. Follow me? Just a suggestion. Evolution sucks doesn't it girls? (hey, at least we don't get lost )

apparently the way women think they cannot concentrate on one thing completely at a time. which is good for their situation as they can keep an eye out on food, kids, a conversation all while doing something else at the same time.

and with men, they can only concentrate on one thing at a time - which backs up the hunting thing. meaning that they find it extremely difficult to eat, talk, etc when doing an activity.

i don't know if this is completely correct, but it seems to work in some situations. what do you lot think about it?

Multiple activities sometimes get me confused.
Women do have a better memory though but its rarely used in games.

this arguement makes me sick... first of all, think of the gaming culture... it has been made to appeal to budding teenage males since day one... society ENCOURAGES and TEACHES men to be more aggressive both sexually and competitively... this is why i think FPS games like Duke Nukem have been geared more towards men in the past...

recently though, games have been bridging the gender gap... take for instance Unreal Tournement, Quake, and Halflife... its primary multiplayer functions allow for easy male/female skin changes instead of the standard men only club of doom and wolf fare...

ten years ago when doom came out i knew maybe one girl who like to play it... two years ago when HL hit the scene (right when i was getting into multiplayer), many women started hitting the servers and (over time) many of them got to be decent and a few of them got to be realy good (just like us guys)... my favorite death matchs were between a fairly equal gender matching... so equal in fact that the players gender didnt matter, we were all on the lookout because we werre ALL good...

i hate this chauvenistic bullshit u guys are spreading... theres nothing sexier than a good gal gamer... and im sorry to say, but there are a helluva lot more out there than u think

The best time for me performance wise in gaming was when I am on edge, not angry.Anger and agression cloud judgement.
