Well, I know a couple of you here have dabbled with the D20s, and I was just wondering, in what context?
Some of you I know have played D+D, AD+D and suchlike, as have I.
I've played others like D20 Future, Star Wars D6, Sci-fi verse D6 and even i think i played an Angel D20 once, but changed it to more of a zombie fest than a vampirefest.
This last weekend, I was invited to take part in a CyberPunk game, played with D10s and D6s.
Pretty fun actually, new GM, a guy i'd never thought would GM, but he was brilliant at adaptation and i'm gonna go back for another game with a larger group in a couple of weeks time.
My friend is currently working on creating a game to fill the 18 year gap between 'Revenge of the Sith' and 'A New Hope' which we might give a test run to and see if can get it written up properly and sent in for publishing.
So yeah, what dice games other than the standard Dungeons and Dragons have any of you played?
Do you still or was it a passing phase?
aaand, a topic which was of much discussion for a few of us,
What series/verse would you love to be seen made into a game?

I used to play a fair bit back in the day, but stopped...Haven't really though of getting back into it since the only people i see out here playing it and snot nosed geeks...most of which i can't stand...
the games i have played or well worlds I have played in are AD&D, Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Marvel Super Heroes, Toon, and teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

I've tried those, and Star Frontiers as well. There was also a Star Trek based game but it was more mathematics then I was willing to work with at the time. Pain is Nature's way of saying "At least your still alive!"

D&D was my first back in '73
Call Of Cthulhu, Shadowrun, Mechwarrior by FASA, Vampire, GURPS, are a few I have played/run. I am almost always the GM due to my excellent ability to pull rabbits out of my ass.
Right now I am GM'ing GURPS Supers and playing a Cleric in good old D&D
Supers is an excellent game but the combat is alittle bit cumbersome. Sometimes a simple fight can last 8+ hours To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. it would be great to be able to join the group bro...I'd probably have to sit in one session to become familiar with the way you guys play the games. I didn't mind the Marvel Super Heroes game back in the day, though it did get tedious at times. I think i still have the original rule book for that one as well as the original one for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...I'm kind of surprised I am the only one so far that has ever played Toon. if you ever get the chance I'd say give it try, theres nothing like playing a cartoon character to get out your frustrations. lmao You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

Wow, i'm quite surprised about a TMNT game. Marvel superheroes would be a fun one, though i'm sure with my group it'd end up getting pulled over into DC universe rather than marvel. a JLA style game would be a laugh.
Shadowrun really intrigues me and i think i might look for a book in that.
there are so many games and such that i've never heard of and some of them i'd love to play.

Toon is a game that is based off of Looney Toons...Doesn't use the characters from it, but it is that premise it is based on from what I remember of it... TOON: The Cartoon Roleplaying Game Toon & - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shadowrun is awesome because the world they've created for it is so detailed, and the characters are so badass, if you have the time pick up some of the ancient-ass novels, some of em are garbage but a several of them are really fucking good.

I have read a couple of the novels for Shadowrun and enjoyed the couple I read. Did yu notice they have re released them? You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

I'm mainly a D&D guy, though that may change in the future, with the 4th edition of the game rapidly approaching. I haven't seen any changes that are making me excited for the new version, or willing to shell out the huge wads of cash it'll take to get the books.
As for other games I own/play: Shadowrun, Cyberpunk, Gamma World, Rifts, TMNT, Palladium RPG, among others... Shadowborn To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

oh and Dy. i probably could join, but that would mean I would have to call you from my house and do it all over either a speaker system or speaker phone lmao...The only issue is you guys would have to take my word on what i rolled and all the states my character has. lmao...not like i can really see that happening to much and well it wouldn't cost me a dime to do it with my skype account. again, i can't really see that happening. it would be the strangest way to play an RPG i have ever heard of. He found a new gaming group and they had another guy who had moved out of town. He had an unlimited long distance plan, so he called in to game on the weekend.
They hooked the phone up to a Teddy Ruxpin doll, so that when he talked, the bear's mouth moved.
