Alright, so my roomate went out and bought Dynasty Warriors 5 on Friday. I bought DW2 the day the PS2 came out. I've put more hours into DW3 than I put into my college education (beat it on hard with all but like 3 warriors with all items and unique weapons). This weekend alone I've probably played DW5 (I skipped 4 for some reason) for upwards of 15 hours. I don't know why the damn games are so involving, but I LOVE THEM. I LOVE SLAUGHTERING CHINESE PEOPLE BY THE THOUSANDS.
I think, after all the time I've put into this series, I've probably killed the entire population of modern-day China. I'm guessing I'm alone in this addiction, but if anyone else on here is a fan, go ahead and speak.
hmm, is it a strategy game or something? I have heard about the game but never really looked into it man. whats the basis of the gameplay?
You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person

The jist of it is, you pick one of the great warriors of ancient china. Then you follow a story line which places your warrior in the battles he fought (According to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms). You start on a battlefield, and hordes of enemy soldiers come against you, and you have to cut them down and work your way to their leader. There's a little strategy involved, you have to keep your own commander safe, you can do certain special attacks in certain areas, but mainly its just hack-n-slash.
Its really repetitive, and you'd think it would get boring as hell. It probably does for a lot of people, but for some reason I just dont get tired of it.
hmm, i might have to check it out then. I was never sure of what kind of gameplay it was. As long as you enjoy the game, then what difference does it make?
