how many people played this game for PS? How many are in love with it? Anyway, if you are a die-hard CSON fan like myself, then you are also proabably no longer interested in beating the game as much as you are for map coverage, level ups, and obtaining every item.....anyway, as some of you may know it is possible to get 200.6% map coverage just in the castle, yet the infamous sword brothers glitch allowed us to get like 210 or some shit.....anyway, i just found out that recently it has been discovered there are many other glitches....a wolf glitch and a heart refresh glitch, and a hidden third outer wall glitch.....all in all, the record for map coverage thus far is 348.5%.......

Oh yeah, that is an absolutely fantastic game... As a matter of fact, I think I might go and dig the PSX out of the cupboard...

Yes, indeed the kickass game...Only too easy. If it was as hard as the old Castlevania games, I'd have nominated it as my absolute favourite.

I was particularly impressed with the backing score... The music was magnificent...

YES! I loved the Coliseum music, the main theme and the Lost Painting song (that plays when you're in the upside down castle in the Bell Towers).

I like the "dance of pales" waltz...

They aren't that great...All the glitches, what's the point? So you can see the little percent number get higher? I think you can find better things to do with your time...

I absolutely love this game, it's my favorite Castlevania game of all time . Like you said it probably is too easy however, it's still a really nice game. And I really like the magic system, I mean instead of slowly selecting a spell you can just easily put in a command and BOOM *Soul Steal*

yes, there are about three glitches.....the most popular is the swords brother glitch (which i am sure you are familiar with), but if you have pixel perfect timing, you can double-jump then use the shield-rod+alcurad shield and get extra space (very difficult)...then of course falling you can do the same thing (ez) then there's other glitches.....got to this website, and some of its links for thorough directions http://home.neb.rr.com/sf3/ and this website for a kick ass map http://home.golden.net/~maggi/map.html

I never got 200% , anyone mind telling me the 200% ending...

It's only easy if you MAKE it easy. Granted, the game itself was structured to be pretty simple, but you could literally beat it blind-folded once you got ahold of a Crissaegrim (sp) and a couple Rings of Varda. BAM, owned! I think I managed to kill Dracula in 7 seconds, at one point. It's also really fun to save up for the Duplicator and use the Power of Sire to get all your familiars up to level 99.

Try playing through using weaker equipment or no spells, or the Luck cheat maybe (which lowers all your other stats, incidentally) - or beat the game with Richter.

wasnt this game orignaly for the MSX system in japan? or something like that.. =x

err...i dunno..i just know theres one that never got put out in the us and finally got made for psx =x

the original is called Dracula X....and yes its for the japanese version, though you can play it too....it has more shit than SOP, like more relics and familiars and what not.....

if you get 200%, i think the ending is you see both richter and maria, but i don't remeber....i just play for the glitches and map coverage

197% and above and you get Maria running off after Alucard, those are some bizarre folk in Transylvania. There is also a Jap only release Castlevania with Alucard looking the way he does in my avi, it is set in the year 2000 or something.

there's also a reported "5th hidden ending" which is hinted at within the audio portion of the CD.....never heard anyone figuring it out tho

Yeah he looks like that in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow on GBA... I'm not sure if there's an English release, well I played it on an Emulator.
