In a recent poll, Sonic was voted the best console game ever. Now whilst I'm rather fond of the little blue hedgehog, I think this was vastly unfair as there are so many other games better than this now. What are your favourites?

which discworld game?

You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

First I have to say that I HATE SONIC.

My favorite games are: Halo (can't wait for Halo2), Super Mario World, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and Dead or Alive 3

On PC Grim Fandago, Carmageddon and Duke Nukem. Console: Mortal Kombat (I'm a fanatic) except MK4, that was a little bizarre to say the least. Tekken and Tushin-something?! I can't remember the name now...

phantasy star series, most notably II and IV
TMNT: Turtles in Time and Tournament Fighters. Holy crap I played the hell out of those games
streets of rage II and III. too addictive to explain. though, i didn't care for Ash in the jap version of SoRIII *shudders*

I played it a lot as a kid too. Then I went back to it one day and couldnt believe how slow it was. I didnt think there was any speed difference at all between SFII and SFAlpha 3 until I dug out a SNES and had a go.
