A couple people I work with got me playing and it's a fun way to kill time. Just wondering if anyone else here plays

It's irritating - I go to a web cafe and everyone's patiently adjusting the aim of their little mecha-tanks in near silence. It's not natural, I tell you. Webcafs should be signposted with the sound of a thousand guns punctuated by taunts and angy exclamations.

Yes, I've played it. Keyword is played. The key factor in any multiplayer game is the community. I've found GB to be filled with some of the most moronic, hostile and all around immature people to ever walk the earth. It's practically inevitable, since the game is completely free. I'll give an example of what you'd commonly find on the boards or chatrooms.

things like this are never taken care of by the gunbound staff. their ''who cares'' attitude has created a very hostile environment among players.

other than the players, the game lacks much mechanics to it. You are presented with several ''mobiles'' or tanks, that can fire 3 different shots. There are special items you can use, but it really leaves you wanting more. And equipment is yet another reason for a headache. Spending hours upon hours earning money becomes very tiresome trying to buy some equipment that will give you a practically useless bonus, at which that point you'll probably have enough experience to be just as good without it.

The learning curve is rather easy, though. Nothing too complicated about hold space bar....release to shoot. But be prepared to be seriously owned by vets if you're new.

Hehe, yeah, it's not exactly a community game. Which is why I said I like it to kill time. If I want a community I'll go play a mmorpg, but it's much harder to just quit those games at any time if something comes up, and they aren't good when you've got like 30 minutes before something starts and nothing to do.

MMORPG actually have worse communities, it seems..
Every single one I've played has more bastards and assholes than nice people who help.

I play Dark Age of Camelot...well, I did for over 2 years, I don't really play anymore. I didn't run into very many assholes or bastards ~shrugs~

you're best bet is playing with other people who don't speak english. for instance, FFXI is dominated by Japanese players late at night, and as long as you don't understand them trying to insult you, I guess you can smile and be friends forever and ever.

That reminds me of this one time when I was playing Priston Tale..and these two guys were talking to each other..all "ba fad dlasdf" and stuff.
I really didn't know what language it was..and I can't remember what they said it was when I asked, but they almost never spoke in English.

However they were pretty dang fun to stick around with, even if I didn't know wtf they were saying.

gunbound was better when it was only korean...

Its an addictive game, and I play on my older computer that can't support Counter Strike or FFXI. And I hardly consider Gunbound with the likes of EQ, Dark Age, or FFXI. Please.

And no matter what there are assholes on games. I've had way more issues with people on CS than anyone on FFXI.

cs can be worse, but gunbound is still far too irritating. there is no kicking feature in-game for morons, and you're penalized for leaving in the middle of a fight too. there's no block feature like cs either, so you have to pretty much put up with whatever you get.

Hmm, true. I never pay attention while playing that game though. I just hear when its my turn, take it, then quit paying attention.

yes, but it can be quite annoying when you're aiming at somebody and cannot see your angle shot because the person next to you is typing ''MISS PLS MISS PLS MISS PLS etc etc'' to fill up screen. annoying as hell. plus, there's talk of it becoming p2p soon anyway, so have fun with that
