I dont own any sword, but I do own a variety of large knives. My out of home defense is my 3 1/2" blade tactical liner-lock "hunting knife", and my in-home defense would either be the 18" machete that I sleep with or the german made WWII sniper rifle in my closet. | |

Find a functional Kitana, get your hands on any martial arts magazine you can find. Usually they have ads for all kinds of self defense epquipment. As far as good steel is concerned, I would suggest going to the industrial part of your city and look any sort of metal mart or builder's mart. Ift hey don't have what you're looking for they can at least tell you where to find it.

We have strict laws on weapons in New Zealand, but slowly people are smuggling stuff in for gangs etc. I blame American movies making the stupid people in our population believe that they need these things.
I'm not against collecting these things because they are pretty, but I for one have never needed to defend myself with an outlawed weapon.

A case in point is that many narcotics are illegal, but it is not too hard to get some if you got the cash.
Speaking of illegal narcotics. The gangs are smuggling weapons because they are always fighting each other. If you are a gangster, you don't go to the cops when someone steals your cocain shipment.

Today I found out that walking down the street with a sword in the us is illegal, I wouldnt have known, now my sword is confiscated, to be auctioned off to the highest bidder no doubt. God damn that shit so much. | |

Yes we got more murders. But you really ought to look at the FBI crime stats where they get into demographics. Of course you can get the story by looking at video of the looters in New Orleans or by watching vintage video of the Rodney King riots.
