its like, just people buying eachother presents and decorating trees and crap.

the religious aspect is rarely celebrated anymore (which is fine by me). granted, some people do still do the nativity scene thing but whatever.

Christmas is evolving. ive decided to celebrate the commercialism and selfishness of the holiday (the total opposite of what SHOULD be celebrated according to tradition and churches). and what is the opposite of Christianity or Christ? Satanism or Satan. therefore, i wish you all a very fulfilling Satanmas! eat, drink, fuck and sin till your hearts content. hell, this holiday is about YOU, the consumer....go wild.

Let's celebrate together. What do you say? We could worship Satan around a bonfire and then give in to our lustful carnality for the night.

Its been commercialized, yes, but thats a lot of people out spending a lot of time and money in hellish traffic to buy gifts for their loved ones and make them happy, I don't think thats so evil and selfish.

i never said it was evil and selfish. the holiday has been commecialized all to hell and its mostly a 'gotta run to the store and buy the kids their presents and get candy for their stockings and decorate the tree and make dinner' sort of holiday instead of focusing on the religious aspects. hell, more people recognize drawings of Santa over drawings of Jesus or Mary.

businesses are preaching tolerance and inclusion of everyones holidays by saying 'happy holidays' and the folks cellebrating Kwanzaa and Channukah (dunno if i spelled that right) are totally cool with that but the catholic/christian religious types are going apeshit over that, screaming that Christ is being removed from Christmas. fuck it. remove religion from it and believe what you want. celebrate what you want.

personally i was never raised religiously and im thankful for that. Christmas to me, was always just a commercialized thing. giving gifts to the people who mean something to you, getting gifts in return...shit like that.

No... not exactly. It's a debate on all sides. I've covered this extensively in my "War on Christmas" thread. It's not just the Christians that are being unreasonable. Non-Christians are, too. And I've just heard that a pagan woman in West Virginia is lobbying for recognition of the Winter Solstice on December 21st as a holiday. She's trying to get networks to sponsor a Pagan holiday television special.

Stores aren't changing their banners to Happy Holidays because they've suddenly become open-minded and are advocating the inclusion of Kwanzaa and Hannukkah. They're changing them because non-Christian political vultures are making a stink about it.

It's not fair to dump the blame solely on the Christians.

Pagans want recognition of their holiday, i cant blame them. but holiday winter solstice specials just arent going to happen.

fuck all this political correctness. everyone wants everyone to be politically correct about holidays and respect for eachother and that shit will never happen. it just wont.

Christmas to me is being festive and happy. Inspiring good feelings in the people I love and care fore. Ultimately anyway. I 100% participate in the commercial aspect of the holiday. To me, it is a commercial holiday. I don't participate in the religious aspect, I don't go to church services or light candles or run around naked throwing incense everywhere. I do enjoy the fact that the religious side of the holiday exists though. I totally dig on several Christmas carols (carol of the bells, oh holy night, little drummer boy all rock.) To me that whole world is fictional, just like Santa. I can enjoy the idea of Santa Claus slave driving his reindeer around the world, I can enjoy the idea of a baby full of good kickin' it in a manger.

I think the problem with some people is they just get way too hung up on themselves. What they need to do, is take their pity party on over to Easter. Circle petitions to have it called egg hunt day or some shit, and leave Christmas and the general good feelings it brings to the majority of America alone.
