For me it comes down to interpretation and personal editing. I don't believe the bible meant it the way you said it. I believe anyone can be forgiven, but I also believe we are meant to be responsible for our actions. As Christ put it: "If thou would be perfect, then sell all your possesions and give them to the poor, then come follow me."
