Hel is neither a goddess of death nor a goddess period. Personally, my favorite reference to Norse mythology is in the Japanese manga 'Ah! My Goddess' where the norns are three of the main characters and Yggdrasill is a giant computer system for the gods. Anyone ever read that manga?

No it's not. Next you'll be saying Fenris was a god. Hel was the offspring of two giants, Loki was still a fire giant at the point that he produced the monstrous triplets Hel, Fenris, and Jorgumand.

It's very true that Loki was born a fire giant, but after he and Odin became blood brothers he was considered a god. Only after that did he have his three children. That makes Hel a goddess. Besides Odin was not the son of a god either, but he is the god of war, poetry and magick.

And Loki had his three kids before becoming a blood brother to Odin, and even then, their mother was still a giant, and Loki, realistically, was a giant too. Giants and gods were races, being blood bonded doesn't change what race Loki was.

Odin and his brothers Vani and Ve are the sons of a frost giant. Loki is not a full blooded giant. Loki's father is a giant and his mother is an ogress, so in actuallity Loki is not that large even though he has the power to change size, shape, and gender. After they became blood brothers Odin considered Loki a god, as did the rest of Asgard. It was not until after this that Loki had his three children.

ok...loki is consdered a half-god, due to his heritage. and he had more than three children, i think it was at least 7 or 8, but i cant remember all of them...

those i do remember is: Hel, Sleipner, Fenrar and the midgardworm...or whatever hes called in english. Loki also had the sons Vale and Narfe by his wife Sigyn.

OK, now back to Loki. Yes He did have several children, but wasn't father to all of them. As in the case with Sliepnir, Odin's eight-legged horse, Loki was his mother.
