To each his own opinion, I suppose. You would come across one that would say yes,and one that would disagree. If you want my opinion,I guess I would say organized religion is contradicting, and makes no sense.Let the Child decide which way to go. hm.think about it some more, you'd probaly answer your own question.

eventually children make their own religious choices. I think the upsurge of occult/pagan paths proves this point

No, no child should be pushed into a religion. They should be taught about all different religions in school, as a choice subject. It's up to them if they want spirituality in their lives.

It is wrong to push religion on anyone. Let your kid be kids and let them explore the different belief systems out there.
You never know...you could end up with one like me *wink*
I've never been baptised and I swear to doG, if I was to get too close to a church the damn thing would implode. Before you open your mouth to speak, please make sure it's an improvement upon the silence.

I think that everyone needs a religion. Even an interpretated by themselves one. Maybe "religion" is not the proper word. I mean something that consists of such attitude as atheism etc. The idea of choosing a religion is very important, but don't you think that a child should grow up in a family which has got something like "spiritual tradition"? You know, young children should be thaught something more than ethics.
On the other hand, religion is not like TV channels. You can't change it anytime you wish. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Ok, I said that, but I was thinking about something else
Let's assume that "no religion" is also kind of religion. You can disagree with that, but I just didn't want to add "or different philosophy" everytime I mentioned religion. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

So what you are saying is that everyone needs to have something to believe in -be it the pink pixie in the sky, Bast or doG? Before you open your mouth to speak, please make sure it's an improvement upon the silence.

LOL. I'm not picking on you, Sad Mephisto. In fact, I quite agree with you. I do think that we all have to have *something* to believe in.
The only thing I despise is that there are those that aren't happy unless you believe in their beliefs. Before you open your mouth to speak, please make sure it's an improvement upon the silence.

answering the threads main question: yes... on your kids, on co workers, at peoples houses, even in the streets. Keep you religion to thy self you fucks. Don't see buddist walking from door to door asking if you've found harmony. You know... i use to call people trying to get me into something after they disturb me telemarketers... and they were outlawed. humm... idea anyone?

I hate to go against the grain of the general concensus...no, wait, actually I don't. I rather enjoy it.
If you practice a particular religion, and have children, it's only natural that you're going to introduce your children to that religion and bring them up with the spirituality that you've chosen for your life. That's not 'forcing' anything on them, anymore than disciplining them for stealing or other immoral (not to mention illegal) acts is 'forcing' your morals upon them.
Religion is all about faith, no matter what religion it is. If you're a parent and you follow a religious path, you do so because you have faith that it is the right way. Since you want to give your kids everything good and right, you give it to your children. It's that simple. Shadowborn To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. i'm split on this question. in some ways i believe that its good to introduce your child to a religion and see how they feel about it when they're older. at least introduce them to some good morals if nothing else.
i was raised jewish but turned to witchcraft about 5 years ago. i had major problems with many of the beliefs for personal reasons.
but then again...
i know that if i ever have kids, i do want them to grow up with a religion instead of being confused and hearing all kinds of bad propaganda that certain religions promote which they're less likely to listen to with a good healthy religious backing, instead of joining a cult or something. i am no longer going to come back to this site. thank for to those i care about for having me here To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater.
