And I find it funny that evangelicals like you spend so much time preaching more through fear than anything else. That's the great folly of Christianity, which is why I parted ways with it 10 years ago. A religion based on a series of don'ts is only emphasizing the fact that it needs you to be extremely afraid of consequences. I hate the idea of a vengeful God; if he sends a kid to hell because he isn't baptized, I think I'll find something else to worship, since that would make him a total dickhead.

It's fantastic if you're able to live that way, and it's much easier than the alternative, but the fact of the matter is that you know just as little as everyone else in the world; you just use faith to disprove common sense, i.e. dinosaur bones.

Have you ever considered that a permanent punishment for the actions during an inpermanent state of time is not only illogical, but not loving?

if i was asked to referee a rugby match, the game would be anarchy, because i don't know everything about the game.. however if the referee who has been in the position for a long long time instructs the players what to and what not to do, then the game works far better. By impermanent, I mean our lives here on Earth. Death ends that. According to your beliefs, the afterlife, whereever you end up, is eternal. So a comparatively short stay in this life determines the permanent placement of your soul afterwards. Doesn't seem terribly fair to me.

A good judge does not have to be loving, he has to be just...the punishment must fit the crime, and take into consideration the victims as well as the criminal.

A loving parent who punishes a child for something they do allows them to learn from their mistake; they don't want their child to suffer punishment forever, simply long enough to learn the lesson that there are consequences for wrong actions.

Most christians know the history of their religion, including the shifting of holidays at the time of the reign of Constantine...from paganism, ...and rather than reprove them, they approve them.
For example, G'd did not command you to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
(speaking of christian belief ofcourse, since I myself do not accept Jesus as a Messias)
G'd commanded you to "Learn not the way of the heathen." and to "touch not the unclean thing."
When you try to worship G'd using the same traditions plus routines that the heathen and pagans used to worship theirs then really you are teaching 'pagan' traditions as if they were commands of G'd and those traditions neutralise the word of G'd!

I think you should take a long hard look at that hell of yours yourself before you start preaching to others...
