i'm really not that vain about my religion, but i've noticed an influx of the my religion is right and "you are wrong for thinking differently, and if you don't believe in what I do you aredamned! So lets try some other religion tactics and see why most who practice choose not to follow that means for "recruitment" but feel religion should be a personal choice that the person finds help them...reason through life and not something a person should be condemned for...

It's so great being a practicioner of the various crafts under witchcraft...for example...I can go outside in the middle of the woods, drink a bottle of wine, skinny dip and revel in all the glory of nature...now it's my understanding that this type of behavior would be "damnable" in some religions.

Oh and then there's the way I view sex, an act between a male and female, symbolic of the rites between a god and goddess...not something to procreate, or something that should be obliged to another because they are married "in someone else eyes".

All sexes are equally powerful, just in different ways, there's a balance needed between a man and woman for harmony...the woman should not be subservient to a man...and definitly treated better than a dog...with rights too!

Oh and what a bad little witch I'd be without the refrence to magick(in my opinion) Rather than spending hours on my knees begging for a little attention. I set my mind on a course and let the energies and forces of the world answer...less hassle and a lot more life...

and all the gods and goddesses to help in my focus...rather than one god that needs to spread his "power" to thin. With so many entities, there's something for everyone, no matter their choice of practice...need or desires.

Oh and to be able to live for myself...to do anything that is "right" and that will not harm another living beign, the right to defend myself when i'm wronged and accept the fact that if something bad happens in my life, it's not some external force, but a bad choice or a lesson to be learned from...

but hey! These are just my observations, and what should I care who or what you choose to...worship...just don't judge me on mine...

i agree completly. i was raised methadist by my parents but about 3 years ago i was sitting in chirch and i realised that i just didnt believe. so i started wicca, it called to me (that has to sound so retarted) but it did. i felt so much comfort and so much acceptance. other then "if you dont live by our rules we are going to burn you, but wile ur still here we will scare you as a child ito believing"
i was workign at my church (my old church, methodist one) and i was working in the music department and the songs for the littles kids were all "believe in jesus or you will burn" and as the older classes got in i noticed that all the songs held the same message "believe or else!!!"
i love being wiccan. i'm sorry, i hardly use the term witch only because for my entire middleschool year all the kids called me that and attached a negative image to it. *shivers* fucking retarted ignorant closeminded pathetic lowlife scumbags....

i was a cradle born episcopalian and so had been my mother and everyone for generations past in her family. so i had christianity shoved down my throat for 15 years. of course, it wasn't bad when i was younger. i was very religious as a child, only because i hadn't awaken out of my innocence to realize the hypocrisy within. finally, i recall being almost 13 years old, sitting half-awake in confirmation class and i asked myself, "why do you fucking bother? you know you don't honestly believe in this crap!" and searching back, i had noticed that from the age of 10 that i had been drifting farther and farther getting into witchcraft, astrology, etc., etc.. i used to wear a cross all the time... and i remember talking it off in the fall after getting into a fight with some girl at the skating rink. that's when it dawned on me that i had absolutely denied my faith since i was born.

i picked up wicca following that, realizing that there were witches throughout my family... nonetheless, my mother's family. great cover, huh? my mother and grandmother denied this, but i saw it within them. they knew, and now i knew. and i learned to wield this power until the darker side of me possessed it, and the higher power destroyed it. now i work again with it...

then i realized that wicca was not for me. i tried paganism. not for me either. so now i'm floating in between following my own set of beliefs. just as christianity did, i borrowed from several different religions with a bit of my own theories that make good sense to follow my own religion still working on it. if you want to know, just ask really...
