So, what's up with Wicca? I've researched it a little but still don't see where the trend came from.

What do wiccans believe,? Do you know anyone who practices it? Even after doing a *little* reasearch, I don't know anything. Do you?

i'm wiccan and so are many others on df. Wicca is a nature-based religion that focuses on the God and Goddess. the Goddess represents the mother of all living creatures and the God aka THe Horned Lord which is representative of a hunter (i think) is the father but doesn't always have as large a role as the Goddess. Each holiday celebrates the changes of the seasons and solstices and goes by the luner calendar- not the solar calendar. many wiccan preform rituals to help others, these rituals are not usually performed for oneself. We are BIG believers in the threefold law which dictates that no matter what you do, good or bad, it will return to you in some way three times. another thing is "and ye harm none, do what ye will" telling us not to harm others, whether with magick, physically, or emotionally. you can try to look up more about wicca by simply checking the search engine. just remember, don't believe everything that you read. there are those who would have you think that wicca involves black magick, sacrifices, or satanic rituals. this isn't true, we don't even believe in a devil, this was a belief derived from Christianity. Magick invloves harbs and (hopefully) not for the wrong reason. We love our fellow animal friends and would never even think of hurting them. if there's anything in specific that you'd care to know, Jordyn, me, and many others would be glad to answer you questions.

exactly. only we spell magick with a k to differenciate it from the illusions of a magician. we work with the magick found in nature.

yes. and where do these spells come from? Do you celebrate Christmas and Easter and things like that?

actually, holidays such as christmas and easter originally were set on the calendar to coincide with pagan beliefs to try and fool pagans into thinking that they were christian because the two holidays would always occur at the same time. we celebrate yule which has very similar tradition in conparison to christmas as in having the large dinner with pork and other goodies, the sprig of holly hung above a doorway, even tree ornaments which act as house protection amulets. yule is also the winter solstice. easter occurs around the same time as mabon, which is the spring equinox, and is when we dance around a maypole which represents fertility.

wicca as the religion it is came about in the late sixties, when gardner decided he didn't like the golden dawn anymore(with people like crowly i can't imagine why ) anyhow he split away and designed his own religion...taking various aspects of the greek and roman religions, smooshing it together with some historical religions and viola, a highly appealing, marketable gateway to the occult

well, with all the diseases out there, i can see why. unless you're performing the act with a significant other that is.

or with protection(of the latex type) but sex magick doesn't require intercourse, in some cases there's really no need for two people *winks* it's about the raw energy that's generated...everyone whose every been sexual knows how powerful it can be...even driving some people to the point of no control, that's when things get exciting.
