Why an interest in Wicca, exactly? What appeals to you about it, from what you already know?

Just wondering. I see plenty of girls who became interested in Wicca, through watching episodes of Buffy.

I dont really know why it appeals to me i just would like to become one i cant really put my finger on why though...

wicca being one of the more popular alternative religions is actually easy to find...there is a lot on the internet...but books are where I learned most...

Ive been looking up sites about wicca and all and found some threads on the df and got a pretty good site for begginers so im on my way!

First, you must buy the most expensive book you can find on te subject. There aren't many expensive books on "Wicca" specifically, because it's a jumped-up pop-song of a religion with pocket-money prices in mind, but you must buy a book for over £15 (or the equivalent in your native currency) in order to affirm your adherence to "the path". When you've done it, tell me which book you bought.

And, Alexandrian?! Ha! Alex Sanders... the geezer who couldn't get into a Gardnarian coven, and so claimed he was a great witch and founded his own, shall we say, pyramid scheme. Why, pray, did you choose that, of all the myriad "Wiccan" sects?

Sure you could do it that way, but I did not. I wanted a teacher, and found one--my HPS has been in the Craft for 30 years.

As for being Alexandrian--I chose it because I've been in love with Egypt since I was a kid, and it seemed like the natural choice. Anubis is my God, and Isis my Goddess; I feel a powerful connection to them.

I take my religion seriously. I didn't do it to 'get attention' or 'be with the in crowd'; I did it because I was drawn to it, and am excited about something meaningful for the first time in my wretched life. Laugh if you must; I'm not doing this for you anyway.

I havent been out yet to buy books yet but i have been getting ALOT of info on many different site's ive been learning quite a bit

Be careful about buying books, don't believe everything you read. 90% of all magic books are written only to make money...they're full of crap. Be critical, and trust your own judgement and your own instincts...you don't need books at all...just be in touch with your soul.

99% of stuff written on the internet is written to make the writer look cool. I would trust a book much more than anything on the internet (anything published by Llewellyn obviously doesn't count as a book). And besides, the content of the book isn't the point. When you've bought the book (remember, £15 or more), tell me.
