When people are told there might possibly not exist a hell, they say that's not possible, appearing as if they actually wish to be one. Why do you think this is?

cause they are thought since they are born that there is one......

The place where these two places meet is where earth is. So they kinda show why Good and Evil exist in the world.

I personally wanna believe in Hell so that I know that people who have hurt others get what they deserve.

People can get what they deserve and still not have to be sent to a place of eternal torment....I don't believe in Hell....there is a scripture that says "people will be resurrected, some to a resurrection of life, and others to a resurrection of judgement" so it makes you think, if people would have already been sent to hell or heaven why would they have to be resurrected to judgement again. I would have figured they would have already recieved it. Even the faithful man Job asked to be concealed in Sheol...why would he want to be placed in Hell, especially since God knew he was a good man?

Now this is just what I think, I don't want anyone to come and tell me i'm a moron....I'm not pushing this upon you.

I dont believe Hell is eternal. You only get what you deserve. Most sins are so small that you'd probably get forgiven and never sent to hell. Other sins like Hitler sins ... I believe will be long.

But I'm not the one to judge...

i agree that the idea of hell is probably taught, handed down through generations. i think the reason for this, is the same reason some parents told their kids about the boogeyman. they are trying to scare them straight. if you truly, deeply believe in hell, youd do just about anything to avoid getting there, right? fear is a mighty weapon.

People are so insisted in believing in hell because the were brought up in life believing in this.The truth is, where can we pay for all our sins and wrongful doings.That place would be hell....
I'm not really sure if Hell is just a place for people to keep on sinning.Upon continuing sinning, those people will realize that they are not living the lives they want to be and so suffer in knowing that they cannot get out.......hey kinda......**Rubs hand against chin*****..kinda reminds me of Earth.....shit.....Maybe people are right and Hell is in New Jersey and California and everywhere.......
About that ressurection thing....I kinda see your point...I wonder If "God" makes new individuals everyday, creates new souls, or just gives people a chance again.....I hear stories of people remembering thier past life, that what makes me belive that there is a certain number of souls, and we just keep on living and living in different time periods,kinda like recycling.

I think most people believe in Heaven and Hell because they haven't been exposed to any thing else.

Not all believe In hell..Some Believe in Nirvana(you get free and you never have to born again), some believe in Valhalla (only true Warriors get There)...So There Ain't Always Only Hell And Heaven..

yes, but even valhalla had an opposite, hel. thats where those who didnt die an honmorable death went. once again, the belief 'you get what you deserve in the end' shines through.

that is also the case with nirvana. if you havent achieved what was expected of you, you'll just end up here again, through reincarnation. their hell is right here on earth.

yes i know...Eljudnir was the opposite of Valhalla, but i just wanted to show that the hell isn't always the place where bad had to go..When You Died of old Age..you Just had to Go Helheim..It isn't hell as in other religions..in other religions you had to be good in your life on earth and so on..but in Vikings Mythology..It didn't matter were you good or not..it was fate..you couldn't do nothing...When you died of sickness or old age..you just had to go there...So there isn't always hell And heaven..when you're good you go to heaven and when you're bad you go to hell..in some religions it was more complicated..that i wanted to show...
Second..you can't say that For buddha-believers is earth as hell...no..they don't care about this place..this's the place where they can learn to get into nirvana..

Also some don't believe in Hell as a punishment.The punishment of not living honorably results in the reincarnation as worm or something very small and uselss.Those who do well in Life reincarnate to be wealther and have a better life than thier previous ones...
